In the wake of last week's SurveyUSA-CBS4 poll , Niki Tsongas has asked Bill Clinton to Come into town to shore up support. The Boston Globe is reporting that Clinton's coming to town.
The former Democratic president will be in Lowell on September 30 to campaign for Tsongas in her contest against Republican Jim Ogonowski.
Clinton calls Tsongas a strong candidate.
A rally will be held at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium. Tsongas says she invited Clinton after sewing up the Democratic nomination earlier this month.
Bill Clinton doesn't come into a blue state to campaign unless the Democrat may lose. This shows the momentum that the Ogonowski Campaign is gathering. In fact the Ogonowski race has been getting national attention. The Boston Globe is also reporting this national press:
Largely because of last week's poll indicated a closer-than-expected race in the making, the Fifth Congressional District race has started to gain some out-of-state chatter.

This is something of a surprise. Why else would Bill Clinton go to the trouble of traveling there?

I’m not surprised at all. I knew this one would be close, but as I have earlier pointed out, it still leans Democratic. I’ll be voting for Jim on October 16th, if you know anybody in the area, remind them to vote. It could be the difference.

As I wound my way through Westford, Chelmsford, and Lowell, today, I saw a LOT more Ogonowski signs than I did just a week ago.
I did not see even ONE Tsongas sign.
It shows me that the Ogonowski voters are serious and dedicated, and that the COMMIE Tsongas voters think they have a cakewalk.
I can only hope that their “rally” does for Tsongas what it did for the COMMIES at the rally for Wellstone’s funeral a few years back.
The COMMIEcRATs jumped the shark with that one.
If BJ jumps the shark in Lowell, may it also take down the shreiking shrew.

Taxongas is bringing in Taxoneverything to campaign for her. People need to remember Clinton gave us the largest tax increase in history. Taxongas, Paul, was for Taxoneverything. Taxongas, Niki, is for Taxoneverything.
The Ogonowski signs are starting to pick up, but Westford and Chelmsford always have had the highest concentration. To win in this district, Ogonowski basically has to pull 60% of the vote in both those towns, and they voted for Kerry over Bush by 54-46% margins. Thats not a small feat.
