“Physics package” refers to the part of a nuclear weapon that directly involves the stuff that glows in the dark, as opposed to the rest of the weapon (electronics, structural components, etc.) It’s old nuke jargon from the Los Alamos days that caught on somehow and is still used today.

Yes there was Tehran was quiet about. Damascus protested along with Turkey (but not the military), Jordan, and Egypt, and Russia. But all protests were quiet and perfunctory.

It was mentioned in the U.N. but again just quietly.

You’re right. This was a highly deniable, yet utterly unmistakable message to the Bad Guys. There is just no fracking way nukes could get loose by accident. Every movement of a “special” is noted and logged by multiple independent observers. I’d sooner believe those airmen loaded kegs of beer on those aircraft than you-know-whats. It just can’t happen.

Diplomatic protests were expected. I’m referring to “man on the street” silence.

Official SOP is that the safety of hostages will be considered but will not preclude the immediate retaking of the resource if such were to ever occur........

The common knowledge was if you were taken hostage you were gonna die at the hands of the security police aka Security Forces as they are called these days .

The use of deadly force authorized at secure sites is NOT a threat ....it is a fact. The Security Forces are like deer hunters, last day of the season , just before official sunset ~

They have buck fever 24/7 backed by defenses in depth both physical and electronic that take the human element out of the loop so bypass of security features and procedures can NOT occur.

They will kill ya .....no games. I have seen it happen first hand. an italian national was killed back in 70’s when he crossed a red painted line that defined a priority resource. He then ran when challenged and was killed.....

....... Do not play with USAF security forces responsible for special weapons.

I remember visiting a friend in Arkansas - Fayatteville?? back in 1986 or so. Anyway, he was on a tanker and refueled the B-52’s that flew out of there (and elsewhere). He was talking about how they spent a week on and a week off (or some-such) on base ready to go, and then some shorter periods at some type of elevated response level as I recall.

I asked him whether the B-52’s were loaded with nukes or not as they were parked out on the tarmac. He would always say “I can neither confirm nor deny that” if I asked a critical question. But after this typical response he also said something like “But those guards there have their M-16’s loaded with real ammunition”. (There were numerous guards surronding each airplane).

That is when the Washington Post said it stopped. IT DID NOT STOP THEN!

Here is the quote: "It was the first known flight by a nuclear-armed bomber over U.S. airspace, without special high-level authorization, in nearly 40 years."

Notice the part between the commas. "without special high-level authorization," Hope that helps.

I remember my first day aboard ship. (I’ll omit the ship’s name.) My LCPO (i.e. my boss) led me to an elevator on the main deck. Next to the elevator was a fenced-in security cage with a Marine in it, and around the elevator a red line was painted on the deck. “See that red line, Chan?” the LCPO said.

“Yes,” I replied.

“Good. If you ever step on or across that red line, that jarhead in the cage there will blow your freaking head off, no warning, no questions asked. Understand?”

I allowed that I did.

“Good.” We then moved along to the next thing.

Needless to say, I stayed the hell away from that red line for the rest of my time aboard the ship.

The warheads were attached to the plane in Minot without special guard for more than 15 hours, and they remained on...

Blah, blah, blah. Bush's fault.

Where's the best place to hide a tree??

OK....We know this happened.

We know it was no accident/mistake.

So....Who ordered it?

DOD...Pentagon...White House?

Where would this 'in your face' order come from?

“Diplomatic protests were expected. I’m referring to “man on the street” silence.”

The rulers in those countries usually must condemn Israel. The reason the street is quiet because the leaders..including local imams are not real upset with the situation.

They all really prefer to have an alliance (of some type) with us and a silent understanding with Israel than to be ruled by Persians from Iran or that turtle head Bashir.

And don't doubt that Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey (military) have working “understandings” with Israel.. cause the do. Syria and Iran are the only two left in the region that are outwardly hostile to Israel.

So the street and the palaces/Parliaments are quiet because it is in their best interest to let this slip by for now. No one wants to be “nuked” and do one wants to nuke anyone. Not us, not Isreal.

That eliminates too many options and creates too many long term problems. No one wants that so everyone is relatively quiet and wants it to just go away for now.

Assad hasn't been heard from since; you'd think he'd say something.

I just lol when I think of Kucinich and Pelosi pondering the strike.

OTOH, maybe they went over to tell him to get gone. Who knows. Netenyahu's aide says we'll know the details before too much longer.
