The 1920s announcement signals the end of al Qaeda in Iraq.

"the Al-Qaida network has actually made people here think that the occupation forces are merciful and humane by comparison."

Is there any serious thinking person who still believes that a post al Qaeda and stable Iraq will not be a bulwark against al Qaeda?

Ping. Read the 1920s announcement. Wonder if al Jazeera will air this announcement?

Well du-uh. Somebody should tell John Kerry, by the way.

Izzat Ibrahim al Douri

Isn't he the guy who shouted "A curse upon your mustache!" to the Kuwaiti ambassador before the war?

Yes the 1920’s brigades rebellion against Al Qaeda was a crushing blow to Al Qaeda and their terrorist coalition. The terrorist forums have been denouncing and madly attacking the 1920’s brigades for the last few weeks.

Izzat Ibrahim al Douri is a Wanted Man.

We got a $10M bounty on this pecker’s head.

He deserves to be shot, after hanging, after torture.

BTW, their demands are laughable. Let’s just keep killin’ ‘em.

This release was meant for a Middle East audience, not a western audience. It will be enduring testimony to other Arabs that getting in bed with al Qaeda is a losing game.

Another terrorist mission statement worthy of the dung pile.

This announcement to me is a watershed. While we have read news reports of them turning against AQI, it is the first blunt announcement to the rest of the Arab world by a fellow Arab jihadist organization that it is better to do business with the Americans than with al Qaeda.

I agree that the list of demands is laughable. But read the 1920s announcement. A herald to the Arab world by fellow jihadists that they prefer Americans to al Qaeda.

"CURSE BE UPON YOUR MUSTACHE, YOU TRAITOR - "DOHA, Qatar - An Iraqi leader unleashed a vitriolic attack on Kuwaiti delegates to an emergency meeting of Muslim nations yesterday. After denouncing Kuwait's Foreign Minister Sheik Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jabbar for allowing U.S. forces to mass in his country, Iraqi envoy Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri then hurled insults at Sabah's deputy who had stood up to defend his minister.'Shut up, you little man, you traitor, you monkey,' shouted Ibrahim. 'Don't you know you are talking to Iraq?.Ibrahim, vice chairman of the Revolutionary Command Council, followed up with a derogatory Arab epithet: 'Curse be upon your mustache, you traitor.'.

This is the real deal folks. I just came from Iraq and seen our Marines working directly with these guys manning checkpoints and conducting patrols. In other words, they are doing their own security. This IS counterinsurgancy.

BRIAN:

REG:
No. P*ss off.
BRIAN:

REG:
Schtum.
JUDITH:
Are you sure?
BRIAN:
Oh, dead sure. I hate the Romans already.
REG:
Listen. If you really wanted to join the P.F.J., you’d have to really hate the Romans.
BRIAN:
I do!
REG:
Oh, yeah? How much?
BRIAN:
A lot!
REG:
Right. You’re in. Listen. The only people we hate more than the Romans are the f**king Judean People’s Front.

LORETTA:
Oh. I thought we were the Popular Front.
REG:
People’s Front! C-huh.
FRANCIS:
Whatever happened to the Popular Front, Reg?
REG:

No. Izzi is still afraid he will be hanged if the Iraqi government catches him. This is a deal to save his neck.

Izzi is not part of the 1920s. I was commenting about the 1920s announcement. The Izzi stuff is tangential.
