As Democrats Try to Hush Rush, Matthews Says He's Victim of GOP
NewsBusters ^

In a week when Democratic senators tried to intimidate executives at Clear Channel Communications based on a false interpretation of Rush Limbaugh’s “phony soldiers” comment, MSNBC host Chris Matthews on Thursday decried what he said were complaints from the Bush White House to MSNBC executives about the content of his show. “They will not silence me!” Matthews declared at a celebration of the 10th anniversary of his "Hardball" show, the (Washington, D.C.) Examiner reported.

Talking about the Democrats’ threats to silence Limbaugh on Tuesday, Matthews put all of the onus on Limbaugh’s speech, not liberals’ attacks on the First Amendement. “Do you think that Rush Limbaugh was right to call people who oppose the war who have served ‘phony soldiers?’” Matthews demanded of a panelist, distorting the facts. “So we’re agreed, so we all disagree with Rush Limbaugh,” he later claimed.

Apparently, Matthews is far less concerned about government interference against a conservative media personality than a liberal like himself.

What a crock. Matthews wishes he were important enough to get any complaints from the White House.

Neil Gabler on Fox News Watch last weekend claimed the White House tried to get Dana Milbank fired from the Washington Post...no doubt something totally invented in the hate-filled mind of Dana Milbank.

Exactly. Matthews, being a liberal, by definition can’t admit a mistake. The mistake in this case being his show’s format, and how he conducts himself while on the air.

So he blames Bush and Rove and Cheney.

The irony is he doesn’t see the inadvertent admission he’s making about the ‘dumb’ President and administration.

“They will not silence me!” Matthews declared at a celebration of the 10th anniversary of his "Hardball" show,

Lol! I could go into a closet and say the same thing. First he has to get an audience. And nobody as pathetic as him has anything to complain about if a show as lame as his last ten years.

Milbank should have been fired. He was the one, wasn’t he, who revealed several secrets that hurt the war on terror? He should have been prosecuted, if he’s the one I’m thinking about.

Lasègue’s syndrome-

An obsolete eponym for persecution mania.

A disturbance characterised by delusions of being persecuted by a particular person or public authorities, or by everybody.

Manifestation may vary from a feeling of unexpressed discomfort to complaints limited to relatives, friends, doctor, or public authorities with minor or major emphasis or violence.

Reaction may vary from aggression to suicide.

Stock fare for matthews. He did the same thing to Michele Malkin. He demanded she answer his question, "Do you think John Kerry shot himself?" She nevcer made such a claim but as a doctrinaire liberal, it is required that one stakes out a false position and then makes the opponent defend against it.

They will not silence me!

They won't have to. His ratings will do it for them.

NAME NAMES Chrissy as to who is calling your boss!!! His boss, Dan Abrahm is as creepy as Chrissy, so if he had gotten a call or letter, it would be known and SHOWN!

Exactly.

And thats why viewers dont’ take Matthews seriously, as his ratings have demonstrated for ten years now.

Its pretty funny they are celebrating this when you think about it.

If a tree falls in the woods does anybody hear it is how I look at Prissy Chris. Nobody but the deranged listen to him and Keith Olbermann, the viewership for the PMSNBC debates has been terrible, and they have no impact on the political process. They are merely ‘legends in their own minds’

Ratings for PMSNBC is at the bottom of the barrel.

Remember the appropriate SNL skit of Donahue (another MSNBC flop) where they went to commercial break and the viewer saw “Insert commercial here” because no one wanted to advertise on his show.

Milbank seems to be a regular on Olberman--I don't watch it but sometimes see who is on as I am flipping past the channel. Even compared to other members of the press he is extremely hostile to Bush--Bill Sammon gives examples from 2001 of his extremely insulting attitude towards Bush (in the book Fighting Back from 2002). I don't recall the details on who leaked which secrets in order to harm the US but can believe it was Milbank.

Chris must be hurting for ratings. He's trying to glom onto the press coverage of Rush. "Me, Me, look at me"!!

Why would their be complaints? I thought his ratings(viewers) were around 80K per week.
