These multi million dollar bidders appear fraudulent to me.

If you check out their history a bogus pattern emerges.
They all have a bunch of low dollar activity in the last 5 days. That activity is for a bunch of commemorative pens and one Nintendo item.

In spite of the prequalification of bidders I think this auction is being spoofed by some DU type(s).

Got to agree. Anybody planning to bid so high would be smart enough to be awaiting to snipe this item. Nobody likes to get into a bidding war on Ebay. The best time to bid is t-minus 8 seconds.

Here is the official "Rush Limbaugh Letter" thread in Breaking News with 900+ replies.

#896

You'll have to find the many other posts in the thread that explain eBay's bidding policies on such a high-priced item.

see post #882, Freeper "webschooner" went thru the bidding process and commented on the possiblities of fraudulent bidders:

Not Possible -- This auction is not run by bush league maroons -- All bidders for this high cost item are carefully vetted. I was a pre-approved bidder for this auction early on, and here is a copy of an email I received just after midnight:

This is a thank you to each and everyone who took the time to fill out the form to bid on the very special auction Rush had us list.

It has now surpassed $2 million. We have actually removed everyone but a few people who are still serious players in the bidding. If you were notified by us that you could bid, please note that unless you placed a bid successfully over $150,000, your approval is no longer valid. Given the $2 million level, we are requiring many additional items such as bank statements, deposits, signed and faxed forms, copy of your IDs, as well as other proof of income.

Many of you have kindly let us know it was too high, so please excuse this extra email. We are sending it out to everyone as an autoreply.

If you ever want to learn how Auction Cause helps fundraise and sell high profile items for the nonprofit of your choice, feel free to drop us a line or email. We cannot promise you a $2 million auction like Rush, but we will try.

Thank you all again, we enjoyed all the kind comments.

Best regards,

Eric Gazin
President of Auction Cause

The bidders are pre-qualified.

In spite of the prequalification of bidders I think this auction is being spoofed by some DU type(s).

Then they are truly fools.

Their actions are giving Rush a lot of publicity and showing that he ALONE, instead of 41 vindictive, uninformed Senators, cares about soldiers and LEO's and is willing to show it and their hypocrisy to the world.

Anyone trying to spoof would receive tons of blowback excrementally-enriched publicity for their efforts and be exposed as a callous, uncaring elitist that would publicly dump on a legitimate charity to smear a political opponent.

If that is the case it will only make this story bigger and last longer. The implications to Ebay would be devastating.
