You have to wonder if the whole conservative movement in the U.S. is living in a weird alternate reality in which the only thing that matters is what you say, and facts, consistency and honor mean nothing.
The recent remarks by Rush Limbaugh in which he called military men who opposed the Iraq war "phony soldiers" is another example of the strange world in which he (and a lot of neocons) exist. The reason: Limbaugh could be the poster boy of a group of war cheerleaders (including Dick Cheney, Mike Medved, Sean Hannity, Paul Wolfowitz, Karl Rove, Mike Savage, et al.) who chose to avoid military service when it was their turn. Now that the coast is clear, they've all morphed into self-righteous war boosters sitting in comfortable offices lecturing the rest of us about patriotism and duty.
Picture Osama bin Laden acting that way, relaxing in a La-Z-Boy recliner and urging his followers to do what he never did. He'd be ridiculed. And, while there is nothing to admire in bin Laden's murderous ideology, at least he actually put his money where his mouth is and fought for his cause.

Hmmmm ... now the lefty bin Laden Fan Club is accusing us of being unpatriotic.
seatle, what more needs said?
Seattle! No Christmas trees in the airport and a pi$$-poor excuse for a newspaper. Seattle: Where loons meet the ocean.
Isn't that exactly, EXACTLY, what has happened?
in which he called military men who opposed the Iraq war "phony soldiers"
Somehow, I doubt that this clown actually listened to the program in question, and heard those words.
I think we should therefore enfranchise only those who have or are serving in the military.
That would take care of the whining liberals.
Another version of BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome). These lefties need to read and listen a little more closely instead of imagining what conservatives are saying and doing. Just because they wish they had said something does not make it so. All we can do is pat them on the head and tell them to go out and play nice.
It may be that BDS is morphing into LDS before our eyes.
Did the author Greg James serve in the U.S. Armed Forces? Because according to his logic, if he did not serve, then he is not entitled to an opinion either.
They are voraciously anti military so they accuse the right of disrespecting soldiers. They have been caught numerous times in vote fraud so they continually accuse the right of minority voter disenfranchisement. The list goes on but you get the idea.
What is the point of this article on FR?
By the way, welcome to FR.
>>The recent remarks by Rush Limbaugh in which he called military men who opposed the Iraq war “phony soldiers”
The Left has no argument on this issue, so they resort to the Big Lie, as usual. Rush clearly stated in the segement in which the “phony soldier” comment was made, that it was about guys like Jesse Macbeth. Add Scott Thomas Beauchamp and several others to the list.
With this paper, could be either. Not likely it's a consequence of thought or analysis, or anything like that.
He also doesn't realize that you do not have to be in uniform to fight America's enemies. There are plenty to go around.
Also, using his reasoning, he has never served as President of the United States, so he should just STFU on matters of national security.
In William Manchester’s book “The Lion Alone”, Manchester records how the liberals of that day (1930’s) claimed that anyone who warned of the danger posed by the Nazi’s were “warmongers”. The leading French newspaper carried an editorial asserting the Churchill and people like him were the only “real threat to peace.”
Liberals...wrong in EVERY generation.

etc... and never been part of those occupations or have made those products. Would not want to paint oneself as a hypocrite now, would we.
The Left doesn’t CARE about disrespecting the military but they DO care about the chumps in middle-America who they believe they can turn away from the “conservative movement” by tarnishing those who speak better than the elected politicians.
Target radio is under asail again and again. Soros’ hitsquad is messy with their handiwork.
A Democrat Congressman smeared the military with more talk of GIs killing innocent civilians last week. No peep from Harry Reid in condemnation.
The Socialists LIE. It is a basic Stalinist Tactic. George Orwell warned us about them in the 1940s.
Preaching to the Kool-Aid Drinker Choir
I see. Bin Laden good. Limbaugh bad. OK.
Are all the phones, radios and computers down in Seattle?
Greg James is a clueless fool.
