Yep, that's what I was referring to. I thought for sure that story was by Orson Card. There ought to be a law against writing a story that good and then leaving the end hanging like that. I need some closure here!

I know where you are coming from about the ending, but I reckon that Simmons did that so that discussion would be generated and so folks would remember that story. I guess it worked!
