Guess what's not on the front page of the Washington Post: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/print/asectionfrontimage.html

Why? Why, WaPo, not put it on the front page?

You'll NEVER see that on the NYT front page. The NYT is the best Little Whore House in Journalism.

Are they continuing to hold the news of LT Murphy hostage? Is it some kind of Khomeini Complex at the NYT that they won't free LT Murphy?

I really wasn’t paying too much attention to this story until I heard the part about how the SEALS let some muzzie goat herders go and they set the taliban on them. Something very wrong there. Regardless of Murphy’s efforts, only one SEAL survived and 16 others died while en route to try and rescue them. This act of “compassion” by the SEALS cost many American lives. Does anyone know who was in command and who made the decision to do this? Just letting those muzzie goat herders go on their merry way was irresponsible.

This was discussed on a local radio show this morning. A woman called in and said that her brother was in one of the helicopters that was sent to rescue Lt. Murphy’s team. His helicopter took a direct hit and her brother was killed. She went on to say that the heroic deeds that our brave American patriots are doing in Iraq and Afganistan are being ignored by the media.

Personally, I find that reprehensible!

It was/is quote: “irresponsible” to try and rescue them.

The Warrior Ethos is “I will never leave a fallen comrade.”
That’s what they do.

Would you be happier if they didn’t go back and try to rescue and instead leave him to be tortured or killed as a POW?

God, spare us.

That’s not what I said. I said it was irresponsible for the SEALS to allow the muzzie goat herders to just walk off. That was the action that led to the deaths of Americans.

Holy piss-poor quotes, Batman.

Did you really say “quote” and then only quote one actual word (”irresponsible”) and then add other words behind them?

Really?

God, spare us.

I read the book,’Lone Survivor’. They let the goat herders go because they were afraid they would be brought up on murder charges in the USA. He does not hide his disdain for our traitorous politicians and news media.

It wasn't a command decision. Killing unarmed combatants is a violation of the ROE, and they would have been tried for murder had they done it. ROE come from the very top, as anyone with military experience knows.

Irresponsible for following the rules of engagement? Irresponsible for following orders? Irresponsible for not shooting civilians? You must never have served in combat. Quite criticizing warriors from the safety of your computer.

Just letting those muzzie goat herders go on their merry way was irresponsible.

It was all covered in Marcus Luttrells’ book, “ Lone Survivor.” Luttrell was the lone survivor of the 4 man SEAL team sent to snipe a local Taliban leader who was killing a lot of American Marines. They had located the target in a village and were set up to kill him when 3 goat herders happened upon them.
They discussed what to do with them and took a vote. They could either kill them or let them go. If they killed them, they knew the U.S. media would hear about it through Muslim contacts in the media and they would all be tried for War Crimes. Reluctantly, they let them go. Within a very short period of time, they were attacked by over a hundred Taliban fighters. Lt. Murphy moved into the open to contact Seal Base and tell them to come running. It cost him his life. The rest of Seal Team 10 and 6 other Special Ops loaded up and headed out. Just as their Chinook was landing and opened its’ rear bay door, a Taliban happened to be close and fired an RPG that went into the chopper and killed everyone on board.

Read the book. There is an awful lot more to the story.

It is so odd and sick that arguably the most patriotic newspaper in the US is owned by the Unification Church. My respect for them is considerably enhanced.

According to the Publisher and the Editor, the church has never influenced their work.

Liberals who hate the contrast to the Washington Post often sneer, "The Moonie Paper".

Once had some smary lib standing on a corner with a bunch of oter people snarl at myself and Kristinn, "So you guys are Republicans..." or something to that effect. So I asked what would lead his to make such a statement and he says, "Because you're both holding copies of the Moonie Paper."

So I ask him, "That's a bigoted statement, but I'd like to know, are you biogted against Asian people of color, people of fait or does it have to be Asian people of color and faith?"

The a-hole couldn't pedal away fast enough.

You want the persons responsible, you should look at the thousands of lawyers who clutter up the Pentagon.
