October 26, 2007 -- THERE isn't enough re vealing material in the tedious documentary "Jimmy Carter Man From Plains" to sustain an 800-word magazine profile, let alone a two-hour film.
"The Silence of the Lambs" director Jonathan Demme followed Carter along on a 2006-2007 tour to promote his book "Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid" but utterly failed to illuminate the personality of the winner of such prestigious awards as the Grammy for Best Audiobook Recording and the Nobel Peace Prize. Nor does Demme go into any depth about issues in the West Bank and Gaza.

Not to mention the outstanding four years America suffered through during this miserable pin-head's administration.
Nobel Peace Prize?
Anything that Carter and Gore could win isn't worth winning.
The reviewer gave this movie about a Twit From Plains 1 star! Much too generous!
Now if the script had been completely revamped to show Jimmy Carter as a serial killer, driving around Plains in his pickup truck tossing rabbits into the bed of the truck then ravishing and murdering them ala 'Silence Of The Lambs' it might have garnered another half star.
“Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid”
It’s so funny that Carter thinks Palestinians want peace with Israelis.
Jimmy built my home.
Everybody uses the word "if."
Jimmy has brought homes to those who for one reason or another haven’t the gumption to get out and work to earn money to buy their own house.
I still cant beleive The White House is getting feedback from Jimmy for the Israel - Palestinian peace process. Given his cozy relationship with Hamas and lambasting the current administration at every turn, this makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
HAHAHA - I love the title - what a great double entendre if you remember the 70s!
We must remember to never mention the Nobel list without including Arafat - who also got the prize for hie great - cough cough - contribution to peace.
The list is "Carter, Gore and Arafat" - it rather deflates the 'honor', don't you think? And they can't complain because it's the truth.
CARTER, GORE AND ARAFAT Sticks a pin in his balloon and sticks the association in everyones head...
BWAHAAAAAA!!!
There's the reason he failed, what personality?
Look *Jonathan*, time for some compassionate conservatism.
Many -- many -- went before you who were & are infinitely better than you will ever be when it comes to generating first-rate propaganda.
You're skills are deficient, you're no Associated Quislings-Press or Reuters and you never will be.
So be a good boy *Jonathon* and stick to making banal simpleton motion pictures whilst in Hollyweird.
...now run along, *Jonathan*.
LOL
Good catch! 'went right by me...but now you mention it - oh yes, I remember.
I had a day care then - so I didn't have to put my daughter in one. I also had a big old Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser - for two reasons: Those who could afford the economy cars that Carter was insisting we buy, were trading in their big old cars. People like me, whose 'economy' couldn't afford a new economy car, were picking up the big old second hand cars....and reason two: I needed it for transporting the little ones.
The gas $ kept leaping up - the lines -, weren't those the pits - and the Carter groups spouting that people should be taking buses (That's a bit hard when you live in a rural area that doesn't have buses) - and THEN, Carter spouts that people had to learn - talking about groceries now - to "tighten their belts, buy cheaper cuts of meat."
I thought "Egad. I've already gone down to ox tails in place of my beloved short ribs for soup - where do I go from here?"
And then I thought - and I had a lot of company - "Carter. What an
I’d sooner watch a two hour movie about the bunny that kicked his ass.

Wow. What a bomb!
Stay away from Miggs, Jimmah
The Vista Cruiser was built on the mid-size F-85 chassis, much smaller than many stationwagons of its time.
Mine was the middle one with "more space" but color of the front one - didn't seem " much smaller than many stationwagons of its time. " 9 passenger with over 100 cu ft of cargo space...
