A new high-resolution picture of Leonardo Da Vinci's masterpiece The Last Supper has been posted online, exposing the artist's finest brush strokes to conspiracy theorists across the internet.
The Last Supper The high resolution image allows viewers to see the finer details of the masterpiece.
At 16 billion pixels, the image is 1,600 times stronger than those produced by a typical 10 million pixel digital camera.

Fascinating.
Very cool! Neat article! Thanks for posting!
Incredible how those few sprinklings of paint could convey such emotion.
Absolutely awesome! I tried to link to this earlier when I saw it on the BBC news, but it had too much traffic. Very cool.
Wasn’t expecting the music, nice.
I cannot find it. The links seems to be nothing but advertising.

It worked here on Thunderbird!
It’s the picture, with a ‘toggle’ switch under it that can increase or decrease the pixels—you can also zoom in to specific areas, or zoom out.
I believe the painting is over the door of a dining room. When the French conquered Italy, they enlarged the door so that they could use the room for a stable. The enlargement took out Jesus’ feet which were in the crucified position. It was DiVinci’s intent to show Christ with hands up and out and feet crossed to reflect his position as crucified.
If all you see is the advertising at the bottom, you probably need to download Adobe Flash 9 Player to your computer.
It’s free.
Cool. Thanks for posting.....C
Great post, thanks!
What do the tinfoil hat types think is in the painting?
...
“I believe the painting is over the door of a dining room.”
Actually the painting is a fresco — painted on a wall. It’s in a church in Milan, Itlay, and the painting is huge, something like 30 feet across.
So, is that a chick to the right of that dude Jesus?
No. It’s a rabbit.
Dang it all, I want some huge jpeg file, not this pan and zoom tool.
