Local brothel targets students at Pace High School(New York City)

According to the NYPD, teenage boys at Pace High School were recently targeted as customers at a nearby brothel, located on 39 Eldridge St.

Building owners Benjie Zheng and Ming Liuchang allegedly passed out game cards to male students as they left the High School building. The playing cards had explicit pictures of naked women with a contact number and the word "good" printed across it. The ping-pong hall served as a storefront while the undercover operation was held behind closed doors.

"I think that the standards of the way people live are going down," freshman Steven Collins said. "This is a clear example of how low people's standards are. If there are those willing to be paid for sex and if people are willing to pay for it, [who] knows what else people won't do for money. Their morals and standards are gone."

Zheng and Ming's business offered immigrant prostitutes to customers for approximately $35.

Freshman marketing and management major Martina Rogers said, "Students are always looking for the cheapest thing, whether it be food, drinks or entertainment, so as word spread, it is no surprise that business would increase dramatically. The legality of the situation was likely the last thing on student's minds, and they were upset that they're cheapest form of entertainment was no longer available to them."

When questioned, Pace High School Principal Yvette Sy refused to comment. Concerned parents also claim their phone calls were not returned when they tried to find out more information about the brothel and subsequent police investigation.

"It greatly concerns me that officials were not more interested in giving parents information about what was going on near and around the high school," freshman Dan Mendoza said. "They were too unresponsive for this type of act, especially when it comes to dealing with children. If I was a parent, I would want to be informed without any hesitation."

On Sept. 18, investigators returned to the ping-pong hall, raided the area and arrested Zheng and Liuchang. Two suspected prostitutes working for Zheng and Liuchang were also arrested. The two owners were released on bail and are due back in court in January for prostitution charges.

The two prostitutes were new to America and were recruited by Zheng and Liuchang. After their services, they only received $15 out of the $35 that was paid by their customers.

"Those women should have better morals and self-respect. There are many opportunities in America, especially in New York City, rather than selling their bodies to teenage boys. I feel sorry for them because they did not know any better and they did not know what their options were. However, they are not to take all the blame. American boys should know the difference between right and wrong and should have thought before they acted. But I guess boys only have one thing on the mind, " freshman Lemonia Lithoxopolous said.

The Eldridge St. brothel has officially been shut down by the NYPD following the raid. The only remnants are pornographic playing cards that are left to late night private disclosure of memories long gone.

"A brothel across the street from a high school?" freshman Tracie Hermann said. "Now, that just seems in poor taste."

I once read a funny short story about two small Texas towns that were bitter rivals over football, competitive even by Texas standards.

One of the towns got a new resident, a 34-year-old “widow lady”, who bought a house near the high school and for some reason dressed older than her years, like a grandmother.

She became friends with the high school’s top-notch football coach, and seemed to be genuinely interested in him, though very politely, even though he was older, fat, and not particularly handsome. She very gently rebuffed his very formal advances, though she would bring by large trays of delicious treats, “for him and the team”, and implied that he should keep trying.

Finally, she agreed to permit him to visit her at her house for dinner, but only on the condition that he bring with him several of the players from the Varsity team, as chaperons, to protect her reputation. Then, while making small talk with the coach in an adjacent room, the boys were left unattended and bored in the dining room. Soon they discovered a photo album on an end table, and made an interesting discovery.

The “widow lady”, once changed from her grandmotherly attire into younger and less demure garments, was more than attractive. In some of the recent, dated photographs, she was downright gorgeous. This was quite a revelation to the young men, who before had not imagined her as even interesting, much less desirable.

Within the week, each of the young men, on his own, had seen fit to cross her path, and in short order, were thrilled to find themselves performing difficult chores for her in her back yard. And after they had completed their tasks, she offered them refreshments of ice cold lemonade and cookies, which quickly led to much, much more.

Little did each of the young men, in their wildest dreams, imagine that they could ever be in a romantic affair of such intensity. And devoting great efforts to being discreet, as well as obeying her exacting timetable, they each, unknowing of the others, became her obedient servants.

Needless to say, their individual obsessions caused their schooling but mostly their performance at football to suffer accordingly. With only extraordinary effort were they able to keep their streak winning games against their formidable opponents.

Finally, a few days before the big homecoming game against their bitter rival, she dismissed each in turn from her embrace, while protesting that it wasn’t right that they should sacrifice their youth for her passion, that they must go into the world and find a girl closer to their own age, and they must promise to remember her fondly, though they could never be together again.

The young men were devastated, weeping and anguished, and could only be persuaded to leave after much heartache and reassurance.

On game night itself, the score was a lopsided disaster for the team, which had been the projected favorite in many of the wagers that went on behind the scenes. The largest of these wagers, that paid a very handsome return, had been made by the opposing team’s coach betting on his own side to win, and win big.

A generous individual, before leaving for home with his victorious team, he stopped briefly by the house of his young, vivacious, and sexually voracious ex-wife who lived locally, to present her several tens of thousands of dollars, to help defray her living expenses and cost of moving to this strange town.

And to propose a repeat performance the following year, to which she happily agreed.

The story concluded by saying that she was not entirely duplicitous, in that she was indeed a widow, having completely worn out her first and second husbands before marrying the coach.
