SYDNEY (Reuters) - Australia announced a nationwide ban on Wednesday on a Chinese-made toy which investigations showed contained a chemical which metabolizes into a "date rape" style drug when swallowed.

The ban across Australia's six states and two territories came after three children became severely ill after they swallowed the toy beads called "Bindeez."

Toy importer Moose Enterprise issued a voluntary recall of "Bindeez," named Australia's 2007 Toy of the Year, saying some batches of the beads did not match the approved formula.

Well ‘Moose Enterprise’ better get busy and start apologizing to the ChiComs as did Mattel, we all know it’s not really the fault of the Chinese, they export nothing but the highest quality products, so incredibly safe that NASA has adopted Beijing’s manufacturing standards over that of Morton-Thiokol.

(do I really need a /sarc off tag here?)

Wow, a nation actually did the right thing with regard to China. What is this world coming to?

What’s shocking is how it’s been pulled for sale around the world so quickly; Ebay’s pulled most of the auctions, almost every website for Bindeez has pulled their product and notified about the recall. It’s really quite impressive, actually.

I agree. This subject does cause concern though. What is being added to other products we have no knowledge of?

Is China doing this on purpose?

Are the electronic devices we are buying from China benign, or is there some serious problem there we haven’t found yet?

I have had serious reservations how anyone could do business with Communist Red China.

Replacing a killer drug infested mini bead with a fowl tasting drug (supposedly tested and approved) to keep kids from swallowing those beads does nothing to address the problem of the size of the beads.

Didn’t the USA ban toys like this a few decades ago?

The size of the beads is not a major concern. They are small enough that they are not a likely choking hazard.

The fact the glue turns into a drug is the concern.

Almost as if they knew it might happen.

Why does China have most favorite nation status?? Because the so call ‘fiscal conservatives’ on Wall Street and elsewhere would just as soon see poison toys, slave labor Mexicans flooding into our once sovereign nation, and waves of potential terrorist Muslims becoming owners of all the nations 7-11’s, Dunkin’ Donuts and every last gas station.

was it Marx who said that when the last capitalist is hanged, he will have sold the Bolsheviks the rope?

Bush is a major part of this whole Globalist Cabal!!!!!

"Wow. Chinese technology. Chinese toys containing a "date rape" drug called "Bindeez",
tainted leukemia drugs. Melamine-laced albumin,
poisonous flammable pajamas, lead-painted tasty children's toys, dioxin-flavored ice cream,
human food made from dog's you-know-what,
pharmaceuticals laced with lead, roadkill, and even road paint
unstable blowoutable tires, and defective tires missing 'gum strips' for improved tread separation.
garbage- and feces-fed seafood, and coma-producing melamine-dog food,
even dioxin- and melamine-filled vitamins!!!!
and those polyethylene glycol-flavored toothpaste!!!
and yum, the cardboard-asbestos filled buns!!!!!!
I forgot the embalming-fluid filled candies and pastries!
Is there ANYTHING the Chinese can't do and ship here?"
