Let's share our ideas on how we can get the best and most conservative candidate, Duncan Hunter, elected. Here are a few things I have done, & I'd like to hear your ideas, too.

* Contribute to Hunter's campaign. www.gohunter08.com

* Call a talk show. If you don't have time to keep dialing for one of the shows with the largest audience, call your local talk show. Besides voters, you might get some donors for Hunter's campaign, and you can ask the talk show host if you can give out Hunter's website, www.gohunter08.com

* Contact some radio and tv shows and tell them you would like Hunter to be on their show as a guest. I e-mailed some radio and tv shows, but decided to write a handwritten note to Chris Wallace, because he seems fair and has a couple of guests on his show each week, and I attached my published "letter to the editor" with the newspaper's logo to give Wallace more information about Duncan Hunter.

"Dear Editor: Disillusioned with the front runners in the presidential race? Take a look at Duncan Hunter, and it's early enough to support him. Duncan Hunter fought hard so that students would be allowed to pray in public schools (just as Congress is allowed to), and is strongly pro-life (authored the personhood-at-conception bill; attended the pro-life march in D.C., etc.).

Hunter has been the most effective candidate on securing our borders. He had a fence built in San Diego, which tremendously stopped crime in San Diego, including illegal drug trafficking, and authored the bill for an 854 mi. double border fence with border patrol in between, with a climb-proof barrier, which was signed into law. Duncan Hunter says that border security is national security.

He will bring back high-paying jobs to our country which we lost because of bad trade deals with Red China and the rest of the world and cheating by Red China.While Duncan Hunter voted No for Most Favored Trade Status with Red China, he voted Yay for trade with Australia, because it was in our county's best interests.

Duncan Hunter was Chairman of the Armed Services Committee (when the Republicans had the majority), gave us ABS deployed in Alaska, and Hunter built up the defense that Bill Clinton tore down, and got equipment and weapons to protect our troops, and our country,

Hunter served with the Army Rangers in Viet Nam, won a medal, and his son did two tour in Iraq, including Fallujah, and is now doing a third tour in Afghanistan.

I strongly believe Congress needs to remain actively involved in ensuring parents’ rights are protected and I have significant concerns with recent judicial rulings recognizing “de-facto” or “psychological” parents, individuals who assist in raising a child. These types of decisions undermine parental authority, allowing any adult with an association with the child to make parental claims.

Way far from strong enough and very Republican (not Conservative) approach generally (marriage amendment to the constitution which is never going to happen; blaming the judiciary without acknowledging the role of Congress and the two parties) - but the statement almost provides a glimmer of hope. Maybe if they repeat it enough - "parental rights undermined" - they might eventually get it to the point that they'll feel a need to do 180 degree turn on their family policy agenda and do something to fix it. "parental rights undermined" is this millenium's understatement.

Duncan Hunter is GENUINE. He is a conservative and a humble man.

With Duncan, what you see is what you get. Don't get fooled by glitz, glib, and glamour. That--he isn't.
He is not related to anyone in big oil, or any current large interest. He always answers letters, and either gets your problem solved, or tells you who is holding the issue up.

No question that as time passes, his seriousness on issues and the quality of his character makes him the only conservative choice!

I hate to say this, but the way things are going I doubt Republicans will win the presidency. We SOCIAL CONSERVATIVES, have a duty to stick to our convictions... We belive the time has come when we have to demand MORE, More quality of our candidates, because it seems, we are the only ones holding the line on letting this country go into a cespool of inmoratlity. If we don't HOLD THE LINE, who will?

If the Democrats win, yes we social conservatives lose. But if we sell out and help elect a Lefty, a mediocre Republican candidate... then WE LOSE EVERYTHING... it would mean we have no convictions... we would be like everybody else. NOT TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY ANYMORE... And your word and believes mean NOTHING, then we have lost it all.

If the Republicans lose without our support... Then they will have to RE-THINK how to handle us... and therefore we still have a place at the table. Simpe? :)

Maybe Hunter could gain some attention by publicly considering a run for the office of US senator from California.

It's rare to have a representative elected President.

Garfield was the only man ever to be elected to the Presidency straight from the House of Representatives. (1880)
He had been elected senator, but had not assumed that post before he became president.

Lincoln had been a one-term representative, ten years before he was elected president. He had run for US senator, but lost.

Maybe some other lesson can be learned from their elections, too.

I think after Hillary’s driver’s licenses for illegals blunder - provided the Dem candidate is Hillary - we have an excellent chance of winning the president’s race with a conservative.

Both Dems and Republicans are against illegal immigration and illegals getting driver’s licenses.

Anything can happen in politics, so watch for more blunders.

The Iowa GOP is talking about not allowing presidential candidates to debate unless they are at least 5% in the polls.

Hunter is 4% in a couple of polls, so with some hard work on the part of Hunter supporters, and, of course, all the hard work that Hunter is doing, together we CAN get him to 5% and above.

Let’s work hard and get it done!
