Six Iraqi natives announced in Detroit last week that they are suing American Airlines for hundreds of thousands of dollars because they were racially profiled, leaving at least one of the six feeling violated. Putting aside the inaccurate chargeracial profiling is defined as the practice of substituting skin color for evidence as grounds for suspicion by law enforcement officials; the mens skin color was never an issuethe real question to be asked of this scenario is, are groups of Middle Eastern men purposefully behaving suspiciously in airports and on airplanes in an effort to cash in on Americas civil justice system?
The Director of Safety and Security for at least one airline, Sun Country Airlines, believes this may be true.
There are some groups out there pushing the limits to reap the rewards of what happened on 9/11, Tony Loeks told PJM in an interview. They behave in a non-violent but suspicious manner to get themselves pulled off the aircraft with the result being a civil suit against the airline.
An example of what may have possibly been such an attempt - a separate incident involving a group of 12, suspicious-acting, Arabic-speaking men that took place on Sun Country Airlines Flight 274, traveling from Washington to Minnesota on June 27. Two passengers on that flight had contacted me about the mens threatening behavior and asked me to investigate. At first, TSA wouldnt confirm that the incident even happened. Later they acknowledged that it did, but refused to comment.
Loeks, the affable Director of Safety and Security at Sun Country Airlines, by contrast, was willing to talk, explaining how important safety and security is to Sun Country, and that goes for all the passengers as well.

Tough, get over it. Last time I checked.....it wasn't 19 Swedes that brought down the towers.
Are these the same Iraqis?

The men, some of whom are U.S. citizens, were returning to the Detroit area after training Marines at Camp Pendleton, Calif., on Iraqi culture when another passenger expressed concerns to guards partly because she heard the men speaking Arabic.
“after training Marines at Camp Pendleton, Calif., on Iraqi culture”
Does that include having a thin skin and demanding a lawyer when things don’t go your way?
I don’t know too much about the case, but from that article in the Army Times it says that all they did was speak Arabic.
I don’t mind pulling people aside and questioning them if they are acting suspicious, but speaking a foreign language?
If a group of 12 scares passengers, what’s a pilot to do? Ignore the situation?
Countless Marines and others have died to liberate these bottom feeders and now they want to sue the very people that liberated them,
We wasted lives and fortune in Iraq liberating any that would do this! If you are from Iraq and you are not a Caldean or Assyrian you are on my bad side.
It depends on if those fears are justified. Drunken college boys that are grabby hands and agressive, that needs to be handled right away.
6 men being shifty eyed, trying to light their shoes on fire needs to be handled right away.
6 men talking, just talking, is pretty minor. If they did something in addition to just talking, like try to open a door, break a window, access somewhere they shouldn’t be, or something done in conjunction with talking should be handled. But just talking?
When will PC become a thing of the past? Probably when it's too late. PC is waved under our noses every single day and we just allow it.
PEOPLE ARISE AND BE HEARD. AND DON'T STOP UNTIL THINGS CHANGE - FOR THE BETTER. IT'S A REPUBLIC, WE'RE IN CHARGE. NOT THE ACLU AND THE POLITICIANS.
I really do not care what anybody, any sex, any race, any creed thinks, says or does...I will report any suspicious behavior to the authorities....asap
“Are these the same Iraqis?”
Believe so..
It may be time for the airline industry to install digital recording equipment on aircraft.
Sir, perhaps if you would read the article at the link, you would see that they were doing alot more than “just talking”.
This kind of crap will get a lot of people killed. And the government will cover up the fact that PC was responsible for the deaths.
I figured as much.
And if I was on the plane with my family, I would have reported the suspicious behavior, and the airline didn’t at least take them aside for questioning -
I would tell the airline that I’ll just take the next one - it’s not worth it.
How about 2 flights to every destination?
Flight 1 - profiled. All individuals born in certain countries, wearing distinctive middle-eastern garb, or with middle-eastern names are taken aside and search thoroughly and questioned. Their baggage is emptied and checked. They are not allowed to sit together or near the front of the plane.
Flight 2 - no profiling. White gray-haired ladies and babies in diapers are given the full search treatment.
Normal people will fly on Flight 1
Jihadis and bleeding-heart liberals will fly on Flight 2.
I bet not. They would choose to fly on Flight 1 and not admit it.
When I boarded the plane, I told one of the attendants what I'd seen and that I regarded it as suspicious. Maybe it was nothing. Maybe not. I'm not gonna have a problem because of political correctness though.
