Giuliani-Kerik Angle in Suit by Ex-Publisher (ordered to lie to protect Giuliani--caught on tape?)
NY TIMES ^ | November 14, 2007 | RUSS BUETTNER, Nate Schweber contributed reporting.

Posted on 11/14/2007 10:22:10 AM PST by Liz

Judith Regan, former book publisher, says a senior News Corporation executive encouraged her to lie to federal investigators about her past affair with Bernard B. Kerik after he had been nominated to become homeland security secretary in late 2004. The lawsuit asserts that the executive wanted to protect the presidential aspirations of Rudolph W. Giuliani, Mr. Kerik’s mentor, who had appointed him NYC police commissioner and had recommended him for the federal post. --SNIP-- “Defendants were well aware that Regan had a personal relationship with Kerik,” the complaint says. “.....a senior News Corporation executive told Regan that he believed she had information about Kerik that, if disclosed, would harm Giuliani’s presidential campaign. This executive advised Regan to lie to, and to withhold information from, investigators concerning Kerik.”

One of Ms. Regan’s lawyers said she had evidence to support her claim that she had been advised to lie to federal investigators who were vetting Mr. Kerik and who might have sought to question her about their romantic involvement. The lawsuit does not say whether Regan was interviewed in the vetting of Kerik's fitness for the federal post.........

Clipped out of the article is this:

“Ms. Regan says the company has long sought to promote Mr. Giuliani’s ambitions. But the lawsuit does not elaborate on that charge, identify the executive who she says pressured her to mislead investigators, or offer details to support her claim.”

We wouldn’t accept such empty slander from Michael Moore. But we’ll accept it to trash Republican candidates? This primary can’t end soon enough so we can get back to some sanity in the party.

Did Judith Regan record this or a 3rd party?

If Judy did it, sounds like she had a premeditated desire to take down folks if things ever went sour.. and apparently it has gone very SOUR.

Advice to the masses: stay away from this Judy Regan skank.

‘Advice to the masses: stay away from this Judy Regan skank.’

Yep. No need to go where so many men have gone before.

Thanks for posting this.

It explains the obvious bias of Fox News for Rooty and against Fred Thompson.

And a Rooty nomination will guarantee a Hillary win!

All of this trashing of Judith sounds AWFULLY reminiscent of the trashing of Juanita Broderick. Sorry guys but corruption is corruption.

It might be helpful if we at FR promote the candidate that is our individual choice instead of trying to tear down the other candidates. It is not just this article about Rudy. This is all over FR anymore, the trashing of any candidate that is not the choice of that particular group of Freepers. At some point, one of these men is going to be our nominee.

From Wikepedia:

In 2006, Regan announced that she would publish O.J. Simpson’s book, If I Did It, issuing an eight-page defense of the deal in which she claimed to be a battered wife and claimed that she felt the “spirit” of the victims in the room with her as she spoke to Simpson.[6] MSNBC reported on her decision to publish If I Did It:

She did it to help victims of violence. As a young woman, she wrote, she was abused by a boyfriend and believes Simpson’s confession to the murders—even hypothetically—will heal the wounds of victims everywhere. (The former boyfriend denied the abuse allegations.) “I made the decision to publish this book, and to sit face to face with the killer”, Regan said, “because I wanted him, and the men who broke my heart and your hearts, to tell the truth, to confess their sins, to do penance and to amend their lives. Amen.”[7]

No matter what Republicans do, Rudy will never be my nominee.

What a scary thought! Seems like the skeletons in Rudy's closet could well neutralize any "corruption" attack on Hillary. "Rudy's no better," the Dems will say. I've heard it already. I am in the NY area, and I admire a lot of things about Guiliani. But I think the Republicans can do better. Rusy should have saved NY from Governor Spitzer, or challenged Hillary for the senate seat in 2006, and stopped her then. He's about the best the Republicans can do in NY. I said it back then too, and wasn't the only one.

Indeed. Trying to hide all this corruption will GUARANTEE a liberal win in the general election. The MSM will blow this clown away once the primaries are over.

I say this to the Rudy fans out there, be careful what you wish for because we'll all have to live with the consequences once hillary's publicity team (AKA the MSM) destroys this guy.
