Searching without cause is totally unconstitutional, no matter what they are searching for. Consensual searches are completely legal.

Consensual searches are completely legal. What constitutes "consensual"? If someone asks someone else for permission to do something, and the person being asked knows that the asker has the power to make his life miserable if he doesn't get what he wants', how genuine is any "consent"?
