I played this for my kids. The message:

Never give up; an opportunity is there if you're looking for it.

Don't bother thinking about how dire it looks; you don't have time for that.

Seahawk fan here. He beat us just about every way you could. Yes, hated him. Then, the year they won the SB, I became a big fan of his. Played with heart, character, swagger, one of the best of all time.

Man, talk about the Twilight Zone with posting to you on different threads. Made my head spin a little.

Back in the 80’s and 90’s even though our hated rivals were the Raiders, and then the Chiefs, I always thought Seattle was the team we had to beat to go to the playoffs. Great games. Can’t believe that rivalry is gone.

I was just out of college and didn’t know diddley about the Bronco’s when I came here in 83’. Elway had flipped off Ursay at Indianopolis and those first 3 or 4 years were pretty rough for Elway. He was a head case for awhile but I blame Dan Reeves a lot for that. We all knew he had the ability and when he started to really show it I knew I was watching one of the greatest QB’s I’d ever see. He gave us a lot of thrills. One day I have to go out of my way to thank him for all those good times he gave us. Including the heart attacks.

I wonder how many NFL fans knew that Elway played in the NY Yankees organization for two summers while he was at Stanford. He wasn't a great player, but this gave him some leverage in his dealings with the Colts after they drafted him -- because the Yankees offered him something like a $1 million signing bonus just to play in their minor leagues (they must have figured he had some serious "marquee value").

You may fault Reeves for turning him into a head case, but I personally think he was just an arrogant A-hole back then. And this excruciating loss for him in his last game at Stanford was well-deserved.

My mother is NOT a big Elway fan. His insult to her Colts she never forgets (Mom never forgets or forgives anything like this; I can usually get her to forgive me, though).

As a Cleveland Browns fan there are only two things I remember about Elway and that’s:

A. He sucked
B. He sucked because the Broncos always stopped us during the AFC Championship in the late 80s.

“You may fault Reeves for turning him into a head case”

I didn’t say that.

Of course all the the QB’s that were taken first in the draft were the most humble people on the face of the planet.
