I’ll have to read the book AND see the movie! What a story! WOW!
The movie is called “Rescue Dawn” and it was just released on DVD.
“Bloodied and broken, he was asked by Pathet Lao officials to sign a document condemning America, but still he refused,”
Amazing.
And to think of the many in our country who relish doing this very thing.
And McCain wanted regular trading status with Vietnam after being a POW.
I just purchased the DVD yesterday - so I’m glad to hear it’s not as gruesome as the above story portrayed. Reading about these things is bad enough, but having to see them can really disturb some people.
Hey... If we don’t “waterboard” to interrogate they won’t do it to ours in captivity... </sarcasm>
This Amazon link is for “Little Dieter Needs to Fly (1998)”. This movie tells the story in Dieter Dengler’s own words.
May he rest in peace, what an incredible story of bravery and heroism. How one human can do that to another is beyond my comprehension. Perhaps it’s because as a Christian, I value life and they don’t. Is this what America would be like if the ACLU, Democrats, etc. expel God from our country?
Amazing does not do his story justice.
Good Reference for the forum; just be sure to have a free day when
you pick up this book:

unbelievable....where’s drunk Ted Kennedy pleading this brave man’s case???
Wow, don’t think I’ve ever heard of Dengler. The MSM did a damned good job ignoring this hero for forty years... Can’t tell the sheeple any stories that’ll fill them with pride and patriotism, ‘ya know? Definitely want to see the movie.
I know, I already looked to see if i could find it.
Unbelievable, we just put this movie in about 45 minutes ago..was just cruising FR on the laptop while I watched. Incredible Story - !!!
Hmm, don’t guess I’ll be getting this book
It makes me sick that heroic soldiers are treated like dirt in this country by the same people who idolize movie stars.
May he rest in peace.
Marine pilots heading to Vietnam were required to read "The Dengler Debrief", a report classified "Confidential" at the time.
I hope Hollywood doesn’t screw up the movie like they did with “Bat 21”. The tale of Bat 21 was so incredible, I always wondered why Hollywood produced such a hokey movie “based on a true story” instead of simply telling the true story.
