What they see is opportunity, with caution that at any time, it could change and go bad. But they really see that if it does, it will be short-lived, that the change in the environment out there is starting to take hold in a permanent way.

There was a Maj.Gen. on Fox this morning (I didn't catch his name) who said pretty much the same thing: cautious optimism, but there could still be some hard fighting ahead. I'm so proud of our troops, who made this possible, and the Iraqis, who have seized the opportunity to help take their country back from the terroirsts by working with the coalition and establishing their own forces.

The Major Gen. on Fox was asked about the so-called "benchmarks" for the Iraqi government, and that the Iraqi Parliament is still working on their legislation, but is already implementing the oil revenue sharing etc., and that the local areas are working together rather than as separate factions. They're all doing more than our buffoonish Congress which hasn't done anything worthwhile for the American people in the past year.
