"The lobby thing “maybe” but not Trent being gay."

I tend to agree with you now.

I think you are right about Chip, too.
Heck...he won't have to campaign so often, so it will be easier on his family.

"Book mark for future ref."

I suspect we'll be seeing your post again. ;o)

HA! for the second time on this thread!

It would be so in-your-face to appoint Judge Pickering to finish Lott’s term!

I think that would be GREAT!

Thanks for the link to your blog.
I really like it.

Sheesh, I’m just glad we got our new coach hired BEFORE Dickie got busted. Gosh knows how many millions came from him. Really.

Last time around, fans were able to figure out which coaches were being talked to by keeping an eye on flight plans filed for Scruggs’s jet. This time he apparently jacked the trackers around by filing and cancelling flight plans to various and sundry places where coaching candidates were. Pretty crafty of him.

Yep.

I've always considered him to be "tricky".

I remember reading in the WSJ way back when the man with the razor cut pomaded hair was looking for to put some kind legal squeeze on the insurance company (SF?)because the vacation house he lost in Katrina was the result of highwater and the loss was not covered.

An update from this morning's Sun Herald:

Scruggs is the brother-in-law of U.S. Senate Minority Whip Trent Lott. Lott, a Republican, announced Monday that he will leave office early to pursue other opportunities. Scruggs represented Lott in a lawsuit he settled with State Farm earlier this year over Katrina damage.

However, speculation that the resignation was related to the Scruggs law office search is just that.

The two events were mere coincidence, Lott's office said Tuesday.

I would rather see Charles "The Judge" Pickering rather than Chip.

I know that the apple doesn't fall far, and all that...but the name doesn't bring maturity. (You shoulda asked my daddy when he was still living...he'd have sure told you that!)

Isn’t Dickie instrumental in bringing the Presidential debate to Oxford? I know it’s not relevant to the article but it’s add to see his name assiociated with two big issues at the same time.

“He dang sure ain’t Dickie Betts...unless he plays with The Allman Brothers.”

Unless I missed something recent, Betts hasn’t been with the Allmans for a few years now. He was replaced by Derek Trucks.

“Jamoe Johanson?”

They have two drummers, and Jamoe is one of the original members. I think that they were first called the Allman Joys.

The other drummer’s last name is Trucks. He is the uncle of the Derek Trucks, who replaced Betts in the band.

In politics, there is no such thing as coincidence!
