Why I hate Annapolis
I at first thought you were commenting on today’s Army-Navy football game
(Go Navy – Beat Army!). Seriously - you could have chosen a better headline. It makes it sound like you hate Annapolis, a very nice little historic city in my home state of Maryland or that you hate the Navel Academy.
Even more seriously; the history of Israel is a long and very complicated one. Theses lands have been invaded and occupied by various “outsiders” for many thousands of years; the Romans, Assyrians, Egyptians, Byzantines, Ottomans, European Crusaders, French and British have all invaded and occupied this area of land and laid claim to it and subjugated all it’s occupants, both Arab and Jewish, at various times in history.
I find it curious that many posting here are lamenting UN and multinational involvement in coming to any sort of peaceful resolution when it was the UN (and it’s predecessor the League of Nations) that “created” the modern state of Israel in the first place.
This is just another example of why America’s involvement in “nation building” and our multi-national involvement in creating artificial boarders in foreign lands never serve our nation’s best interests in the long run.
Before America’s involvement with and ardent support of the modern state of Israel, we didn’t have any problems with Arab terrorism and many Arab nations were actually friends and allies of the US.
Please don’t misconstrue this post as being anti-Semitic, anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian or pro-Arab Islamic Fundamentalist as I am none of these.
I support Israel’s right to exist as a modern nation, but I do question if Israel is really a “friend” to the US.
