NBC announced its first quarter 2008 schedule yesterday, and noticeably absent was any mention of Dateline. An episode is scheduled to air this Wednesday, but there are no plans for broadcasts beyond that date. Dateline's last hour of programming aired September 10.
It was thought that because of the WGA strike affecting scripted programming, Dateline would ramp up production. Matea Gold of The Los Angeles Times reported last month, "Dateline staffers were instructed to be ready to produce as many as three hours a week after the new year. The show, which has long served as a fill-in for NBC, has spent this fall readying new episodes, including a few new installments of its controversial 'To Catch a Predator' series."

"Phillips anchored Dateline NBC from its inception until July 2, 2007, when NBC in a cost cutting move did not renew his $7 million contract.[1] His anchor seat was not replaced."
Don’t worry; there’s always MSNBC. They’ll continue to show that kind of stuff; but a lot of it (most of it) are repeats.

Dateline Dropping Stone Phillips as Cost Cutting Move(Dinosaur Media Alert!)
Thanks. I guess I was only 6 1/2 months late on this. :)
Guess they couldn’t get anyone to write chat room scripts to catch the pervs.
NBC can’t fabricate news anymore without being caught and exposed. Therefore, no Dateline.
Help me out here people.
Now Being Cancelled
No Body Cares
The ‘To Catch A Predator’ show is vile. Because of the nature of the topic, it is allowed to spew the most vile language and mental images — thus deadening the American public’s sensibilities even further. For some reason, it is practically all that MSNBC shows in San Francisco at night.
