First of all, the whole concept of this debate that was broadcast in Spanish only is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. How many candidates realized beforehand that their English-speaking constituents would not be able to know their comments in real time? It wasn’t even broadcast on the Univision outlet in my heavily Democrat area.
Second, the last question was an unfair low blow, re “What would you do about rising anti-hispanic sentiment?” or something to that effect. Demand and then whine, that’s what the latino bloc does.
Having said all that and scanned the translation so generously provided by Ultra Sonic 007, Romney and Thompson had the the best answers by far. Romney knows best how to speak directly to people in language they understand.
