Patrick Green and Robert Rothe told WBAL TV 11 News that they were antagonized and attacked after boarding the No. 64 bus late Monday night in south Baltimore.
The men, who are white, said the attackers yelled racial slurs and that no one on board, including the driver, stepped in to stop the attack. MTA surveillance cameras captured four men boarding the bus at the Hanover Street stop Monday night, moments before Green and Rothe got on.
Green and Rothe said they believe other passengers were afraid to help and that the driver refused to call for help.
"We were saying the whole time to the driver, 'You need to help us, call the police,'" Green told 11 News reporter Kerry Cavanaugh. "He said, 'I can't. I'll get in trouble.'"
Roth said the driver closed the door and drove away, even though the attack continued once they got off the bus.
"We could've been left on the side of the road, dead," Rothe said.
MTA officials said the driver of the bus is currently not operating a vehicle while the incident is being investigated.
MTA officials said they're not currently classifying the incident as a hate crime. They said they're simply calling it a common assault.
Green and Rothe said they're mad it took MTA officials three days to release photos of the suspects.

In a similar incident, Sarah Kreager said she suffered broken facial bones and other injuries after she was punched, kicked and dragged off a bus Dec. 4. Kreager's companion, Troy Ellis, was also attacked, but not beaten as severely.
That incident is still under investigation.

WHY would the driver not call the Police? Seems to me he’d get in far more trouble if two people died on his bus? .....and the dumbass cops not classifying it a hate crime? It is not a hate crime in PC America if whites are the victims of non-whites attacking them and hurking racial slurs at them. It is only a hate crime if a white — intentionally or accidentally — injures or offends a non-white. Just like it is not a hate crime if a mohammedan attacks or slurs a Christian, but it is a hate crime if a Christian even so much as looks at a mohammedan.

Someone is filling these kids head with hatred for white people. These race pimps that preach this are causing this violence. I say to all of the race pimps like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson about racism and hatred: Take the log (of hatred for other people) out of your eye before you accuse white people of the speck of racial hatred in their eye.
I agree Baltimore is not a safe place if you are white.
I went down a few years back and was staying at a hotel downtown. They had walkways above the street that I thought were great. In the morning, the walkways were bustling with people, you didn’t need to cross the roads, etc.
I returned to the hotel later that day around 4:30 PM, and when I walked back, all the places had metal cages down and there was NOBODY around. I opened the door to walk out across a walkway, and there were six older teens, black, wearing the usual bad guy stuff...kerchiefs on the head with oversize baseball cap at a angle, baggy pants, hoodies...you get the idea.
I opened the door, took one look at these guys lounging out on this walkway, basically blocking it, looked down at the crowds on the street, and turned around. I had no idea the dynamic of those walkways would be so different in the afternoon from the morning, but they were. I was the only one who didn’t seem to notice.
That town is not safe place.
This is Baltimore the anti-gun center of corruption in a liberal Democratic run state. Maryland is a "may isuue" state just like New York, and just like NY only those with an "in" to the government are legally allowed to defend themselves.
Just like Atlanta and DC, the city government is a racial spoils system designed to reward black democrats for being black democrats. Any white person defending himself who shot a black would be the target of the whole weight of the city government. Fortunately GA is a "shall issue" state, so self defense is not treated as a crime here.
