JOHNSTON, Iowa - With her political life on the line, Hillary Rodham Clinton is adopting a sweet-and-sour approach to win over an increasingly skeptical Democratic electorate in Iowa.
During a pair of appearances Friday, Clinton made a powerful, emotional appeal to women voters by talking about her mother's troubled childhood. Then she quickly toggled to an attack on Barack Obama and John Edwards, suggesting she is the only contender who can't be hurt by damaging secrets.
Appearing on Iowa Public Television, Clinton said she had been "vetted" by two decades of political combat and that "there are no surprises" in her past.
Her remarks came less than a day after her New Hampshire co-chairman Bill Shaheen stepped down after suggesting Obama, who speaks openly about his youthful drug use, may have dealt or distributed drugs. Clinton has apologized to Obama, but his aides still think the attack was authorized by her campaign, which she denies.
Clinton denied alluding to Obama in her "surprises" comment, but told reporters that "Republicans will go after whomever we nominate -- I think every single one of you know that."
Clinton bristled when asked if she had ever used marijuana or cocaine. "The answer's 'no,'" she said, while refusing to talk about situations in the drug-hazed 1960s when she was offered drugs and refused.

Let’s place our bets. Pick a date between now and the Iowa caucus that the Clinton’s will drop their stink bomb on Obama. I am picking December 27th.
By “no surprises”, Clinton is hinting that she has tons of dirt on Obama and Edwards and, unless she wins in Iowa and NH, the dirt will start to fly.

I think it will be Thompson/Romney or a (probably Cuban)Hispanic to be named later versus Edwards/Richardson. Even the democrats aren’t stupid enough to nominate the most polarizing figure in politics (Hillary) or a proto-Muslim black man (Obama).
I hope that Fred will name John Bolton Secretary of State and Duncan Hunter Secretary of Defense or something similar.

One thing that struck me in the Fox News coverage after the last Democrat debate was how many Edwards supporters referred to him as “authentic”. I’ll bet they don’t even remember, or know, that he made his living playing to juries as a trial lawyer. I guess that is what passes for authentic to current Democrats.

1) Have you ever had sex with a woman? What was the most recent time? Why do all of your Radcliffe friends, and nearly every woman in your husband’s administration, appear to be lesbians? And have you ever spent a night away from your trusty campaign assistant?
2) Since Bill Clinton goes around telling people he’s sterile, which one of your law partners fathered Chelsea? And why didn’t you pick the good-looking one?
3) They say some of the deceased can vote for President. If Vince Foster could vote, whom would he vote for?
