National Media's Refusal to Cover White Couple's Murder (snopes confirms)

OK, so let's create a level playing field here. I have not even heard of this on CBS, ABC, NBC or any of the cable news services, even FOX NEWS. OR in any of the Newsrags or other publications. Read this and weep.

Bet you $20 you did not hear this on the national news.

The animals pictured below car-jacked, then raped Christopher Newsom, cut off his penis, then set him on fire and fatally shot him several times while they forced his girlfriend, Channon Christian, to watch. An even more cruel fate awaited her!

Channon Christian, was beaten and gang-raped in many ways for four days by all of them, while they took turns urinating on her. Then they cut off her breast and put chemicals in her mouth ... and then murdered her.

Where be the Revs Al and Jesse? Are they providing counsel and help to the families of the victims?

Of course not - the victims were white

Why hasn't this received National coverage by the news media like the Duke "rape" case?

Oh, that's right - the victims were white

Why hasn't the NAACP, ACLU, New York Times etc, called for an investigation?

Must be cause the victims were white

Why hasn't the FBI been called in to investigate this as a hate crime?

No, it doesn't pretty much say it all because Scopes missed the main point. That point was this: How much coverage would the Knoxville murders have received if the murderers had been white and the victims black?

Scopes (which is a good resource for technical information about things but is infected with PC like most other sources) dismissed the idea of media bias by noting that there are a lot of terrible crimes committed in America. The press can't give them all big time coverage, so they reserve such coverage for things that are especially shocking, such as mass murders, murders involving celebrities, and so forth. The Knoxville murders didn't fit into any of those categories, we're told. It was just a routine weekly crime.

But you'll notice that Scopes also included this category of crime as meriting big time media coverage: Crimes with "victims who especially elicit sympathy".

What do they mean by that? Jon Benet Ramsey, might be one example. But blacks who are attacked by whites are another such example. That's obvious simply by watching the news. The media consider blacks who have been harmed by whites to be victims who especially elicit sympathy. Whites who are attacked by blacks don't fit that bill. That's why totally insignificant crimes, like anti-black graffiti or a noose display, merit national coverage.

How many strippers get gang raped every year? My guess is it's a pretty high number, so they don't make the cover of Newsweek very often. Nor do they merit six editorials in The New York Times or get round-the-clock coverage on the news channels. But when a black stripper claimed to be gang raped by white boys, that sure changed didn't it? Even though the story sounded fishy from the beginning, the media ran wild with it. Have you seen the sneering, vicious comments by Nancy Grace on CNN about the alleged perpertrators?

The argument that the press is a capitalist enterprise and wouldn't show restraint on something that would draw ratings is ridiculous. Hollywood is an even more capitalist enterprise and they still churn out anti-war pics that are destined to flop while refusing to make films that depict our troops as heroes, despite enormous financial potential. Ideology trumps profits for many of these people.

You're missing the most important point once again. The reason extremists like Hal Turner and Richard Barrett show up during cases like these is because no one else does. That's because whites aren't permitted to have any legitimate representatives for our interests, or to even have interests.

Again, if the races had been reversed in the Knoxville murders, there would have been a huge outcry from the black community. The national press would have descended on the city like locusts. Every black politician, civic leader, or preacher from within 100 miles would have led a huge protest rally demanding not only that the murderers be punished harshly, but adding on the demand for more affirmative action, more housing subsidies, more "diversity training" in the schools, and a dozen other demands. National black spokesmen like Al & Jesse (who are no better than Turner & Barrett, by the way) would have flown in to lead still more rallies and to make still more demands.

National politicians would cite the murders as an example of the rampant white racism spreading throughout the land. President Bush would have commented on it. The Democrats would have exploited it, and they'd be running ads on black radio stations urging blacks to vote Democrat because if the Republicans get in, "we'll see murders like the horrible racist slaughter in Knoxville".

When whites are murdered by blacks, nothing like this happens. White preachers and politicians and civic leaders don't rally. There are no prominent white spokesmen to fly in to lead protests. The national press doesn't care. Even the victims' families are sufficiently indoctrinated in PC to know that they have to show verbal and emotional restraint, otherwise they would be the ones accused of racism. Amazing, isn't it? The families of the two victims in Knoxville have actually downplayed the racial aspect because they know they would be accused of racism if they mentioned it.

This is the type of ideological "soft totalitarian" atmosphere we live in. It creates a void, because there is no one to legitimately defend whites as a group, since any defense of whites as a group is considered racist and illegitimate. So into this void come scumbags like Turner and Barrett. Then you come along and cite their presence as "proof" that only a racist would be upset about the massive number of whites killed by blacks in this country.

You are right on so many points. Are there NO community leaders or right leaning non racist media figures in that area who could have tried to form an anti-crime rally of some kind? Rally against parole and soft on crime policies that allowed these animals to be out and preying on innocent people? A rally like this would of course be open to all, without race as a issue. Crime and the tolerance of it should have been the issue. They had a gathering like that after the Cheshire CT home invasion murders last summer, though there the victims and the rapist/killers all were white.

All things considered though, I am surprised that black woman who was raped and abused for a week by those white hillbillies in WV a few months ago did not get more coverage. I would have thought by now she would have been a “cause celebre” among the followers of Sharpton and Jackson.

And at the risk of going on more of a tangent... How about the story last summer where 2 white guys in Atlanta were kidnapped at gunpoint outside a nightclub and forced into the trunk of a car? They were held captive for like 18 hours while the black kidnappers went on a spending spree with their cash and credit cards. What made this story stand out was that one of the victims sent a text message from the trunk of the assailants’ car, and police were able to trace it and rescue these poor guys. This was a major national story and the victims were interviewed on several shows. Pictures of the scumbags were clearly shown. I had to wonder though, what if they had been murdered? Would this story ever have seen the light of day in the national media??

When were talking “covered” we mean the kind of coverage that would have happened it the victims had been black and the assailants, white.

If memory serves, I think the incident in West Virginia lost media attention because it turned out the black victim was the ex-girlfriend of one of the abusers. Apparently she dumped him, and he retaliated by holding her hostage and torturing her, with help from his depraved family. It would have been hard for the media to push the racism angle if the white abuser was acting out of jealousy because his black girlfriend left him.

That’s what I recall, but maybe someone else here knows more about it. Whenever a story starts out getting a lot of media attention, and then suddenly is dropped, there’s usually a PC reason. That’s why so many of us got suspicious when the Columbia University noose incident suddenly disappeared from the media radar when it was reported that a security camera may have filmed the perpetrator.

Regarding zebra killings: I remember hearing about zebra killings in the mid-70s in the San Francisco Bay area and wondering what the hell, other than the obvious, was a zebra killing. Later I found out that’s what the media called those killings when black people killed white people. Those weren’t racist killings.

No law bars whites from organizing a NAAWP. It just hasn't reached that threshold yet, where the danger of assault seems to outway the discomfort and economic penalty of becoming an outcast.

I agree with you,a crime is a crime and people will not just start dropping all their black friends just because some psychopaths who happen to be black are doing horrid things like in Knoxville.
I just think there is an underlying subconscious racially motivated vibe to many of these posts when black criminals are featured.I can’t put my finger on it,Earthdweller and maybe its just a figment of my imagination.Maybe I’m just going crazy but its like these posts give many people a chance to vent on racial issues they have that are only loosely connected with the actual incident.

I think I will condense my response to you and Karliner in the interests of brevity.
This whole racial vortex has puzzled me since I was a little child of eight years old and my mom’s next door neighbor went into an absolute rage when my mom referred to her black housekeeper as a “cleaning lady”.You NEVER refer to a “colored”woman as a lady,Mrs Ruff spit out.
Then came a whole array of racist relatives and peers who warned me that”niggers will kick your ass”.They were lazy,violent,and lusted after white girls.Funny,though,how all the people kicking my ass and making my life miserable were WHITE.Hmm,lets see now.Could someone be lying to me?
Then came the Sixties,college and the world of work.Gee,some of these”niggers”were actually smarter than ME.And some of them actually invited me into their homes,churches and social clubs.Some of them actually treated me as a human being.Why weren’t THESE black people ever mentioned in my younger days?
Then onto New Orleans and teaching at an all black school in the Ninth Ward.Funny that 95% of the kids treated me very well and showed me love and respect.The knuckleheads were there too but you find them anywhere.I loved the music,the energy and the feeling that here were some people who truly appreciated the absurdity of the human condition.
That was over 30 years ago,Now its a different time.Rap music and the destruction of the black family has diluted the quality of life and taken a real sad toll on black culture.I no longer socialize among blacks or anyone else for that matter.I used to go to parties and hear the O’Jays and Maze.Go to the disco and hear the smooth grooves of Chic and Evelyn King.Engage in passionate but loving debates on politics and social issues.
But now its all about Little Wayne and Ciara and God knows who else talking about bitches,blunts and mack daddys.I am not feeling it anymore.Played out,baby.
So I still venture out most days to our crumbling school system and encounter Chardae,Devonte, Lakeisha and Akeem.They gravitate to me because I know the little subtleties of black speech and demeanor.I show sincere interest in them and they know that I am not some dumb out of the loop square honky who is totally lame.And I know that underneath all the hyphy bravado and shit talking are a bunch of scared to death little kids who are basically raising themselves out there.
