It did get some coverage, largely in response to criticism that the media went crazy with massive coverage of the Duke rape allegations, but ignored crimes such as the Knoxville murders. To "prove" that they really, really do cover black-on-white crimes, some media outlets ran a few stories on the Knoxville murders.

But it really only got about as much coverage as the discovery of a noose would get, or an anti-black racial slur found on the inside of a bathroom stall would get. Once they ran a couple of stories on the Knoxville horror, it was back to PC business as usual.
