FOXNews.com compiled a list of 21 questions representing some widely-held beliefs and misconceptions about Mormonism, and posed them to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The Church objected to answering some of the questions on the grounds that they misrepresent the basic tenets of the Mormon religion.
"Many of these questions are typically found on anti-Mormon blogs or Web sites which aim to misrepresent or distort Mormon doctrines," the Church said in a statement. "Several of these questions do not represent ... any serious attempt to depict the core values and beliefs of its members."
Here are the questions, and how the Church responded:
Q:Why do some call the Church a cult?
A: For the most part, this seems to stem from a lack of understanding about the Church and its core doctrines and beliefs. Under those circumstances it is too easy to label a religion, or other organization that is not well-known, with an inflammatory term like, cult. Famed scholar of religion Martin Marty has said, a cult means a church you don't personally happen to like. We don't believe any organization should be subjected to a label that has come to be as pejorative as that one.
Q: Does the Mormon Church believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God?
A: Mormons believe Jesus Christ is literally the Son of God, the Savior and Redeemer, who died for the sins of humankind, and rose from the dead on the third day with an immortal body. God, the Father, also has an immortal body.

Calling all your anti Mormon Cabal cohorts I see?
As a Christian, I’d rather live in a city full of Mormons then a city full of muslims.

You are another seminar blogger.
Post your values please.
Who gives a crap what 21 questions of morman?
Lots of repeated answers to different questions - and for those of us with some experience in regards to the Mormon faith - some intentional avoidance...
“Boxers or Magic?”
IIRC the Mormon church also believes that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are in fact 3 physically separate entities. On that basis the Catholic Church and other Christian denominations do not accept Mormon baptism as valid, since although the words “I baptize you in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit” are the same, the meaning is different. OTOH, if you are baptized in (for example) the Lutheran church and then convert to Catholicism, you don’t have to be re-baptized.
What's the difference once either one is in power?
muslims kill you and create vast area’s of evil.
It isn’t bashing to state the truth: Mormons believe that The Book of Mormon is equal in importance to the Bible.
Yes, they believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, but they have added to the canon of the faith and have therefore substantially changed the faith when they equate The Book of Mormon to the Bible.
And they did all this based on the testimony of Joseph Smith, a man.
No problems with Mormons, but these answers seem very canned.
I want a representative to sit down with me, watch the South Park episode that dealt with it, and describe any falsehoods or misrepresentations.
For an election cycle where everybody keeps mouthing platitudes about not judging candidates by their religious confessions, we seem to see an awful lot of sectarian nonsense being tossed out into the campaign (from the Mormons as well as from the Huck).
Did you notice they had the same three or four, very carefully worded answers. They just recycled them for different questions.
Women and heaven. Well, since Mormons believe that EVERYONE goes to heaven, I suppose they answered honestly. I wish the questioners had enough knowledge to ask the question that should have been asked. “Can a woman reach the highest level of EXALTATION without having her husband call her by her sacred (secret) new name that she received in the Temple Ceremony.
Q: What percentage of Mormons actually partake of the Temple Ceremony that enables them to receive exaltation in the Celestial Kingdom.
Q Why do men know the secret names of the wives, but the wives do not know the “names” of the husband.
Q; Do you believe that people can receive EXALTATION to the CELESTIAL KINGDOM where they may DWELL with God and Jesus Christ, unless they are baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or unless someone does the baptism for them, by proxy after they die?
Etc, etc, etc Mormonism’s leaders obfuscate. They can’t tell the truth. I don’t think they even recognize the truth. Messed-up. That’s what it is.
“Why do some call the Church a cult?”
No Christian church accepts Mormonism as Christian, why does the media always say “some”, or “evangelicals”?
All of the Christian faiths have studied Mormonism and they all require Mormons to be baptized into Christianity.
The Vatican, the Greek Orthodox, all the rest are in agreement on Mormonism.

The entire bible was written by mortal and imperfect men.
Like reading answers to written discovery. Very lawyer-like.
And I don't mean that as a compliment.
Granted, it's a fictional account, but one which probably attempts to accurately portray events as they occurred, but the very first Sherlock Holmes story, A Study in Scarlet, describes conditions in Deseret (now Utah) back when it was still essentially a Mormon theocratic state - complete with secret police and disappearing dissenters.
