"Could the Syrians act more like an organized crime syndicate if they tried?"

Like Iraq, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, Syria was setup by the the colonial powers to have a minority ethnic/sectarian group ruling over the country. It was thought that this would leave the new independent government's ruling class weak and dependent on Britain and France. Instead it made them vicious.

"The Islamics have never forgotten the humiliation they received at the hands of Crusaders..."

According to Bernard Lewis they completely forgot it until they began reading western accounts of it in the 19th century.

Have you ever known anyone to get so outraged about a war they won?

The 62 year old Al-Kassar was born in Syria and is also known as the "Prince of Marbella."

Spain is stuffed with people like this: rich, decadent, yet simultaneously fundamentalist-crazy Muslims. They live in all the best places and probably do all the best drugs and buy all the best "top models" - and they are bound and determined to destroy the West and all non-Muslim lands. Very bizarre.

It's not over yet. The war continues until the last infidel is converted or dead.

Here’s the original Spanish article from the newspaper site: “Un informe policial avisa de lo peligroso que sería para España entregar a Al Kassar a EEUU” [A police report warns of the danger to Spain of extraditing Kassar to the U.S.] http://www.elmundo.es/elmundo/2007/12/23/espana/1198445339.html

Aa.. and yes Pelosi is right!! :)

Speaking in Damascus after the talks, Ms Pelosi praised Mr Assad’s attitude towards Israel.

“We were very pleased with the assurances we received from the president that he was ready to resume the peace process,” she said.

Ain’t gonna happen as long as Arbusto is in office. He’s too busy turning his back while these F**kers and the Iranians kill our troops. Of course, if the Iranians or Syrians blew one of his daughters to hell, then you might see some action.
