Reading Nicholas Burns speech is like entering the twilight zone. A handmaiden for Islamazis, he is delivering America into the claws of Islamic jihad. Worse still, he has a svengalian influence over Condhimmi. If you have trouble reading or understanding this, merely pretend it is 1942 and substitute Nazi Germany for Palestinian state. That should do it.
Burns is just another State Dept Arab loving hack with, we now discover, a Palestinian-Arab in his family. Any wonder why and where his misguided sympathies are?
The American Task Force on Palestine (ATFP) held its second annual gala Oct. 17 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Washington, DC. The theme was a hopeful one: Choosing Peace, Embracing Hope: Honoring the Contributions of Palestinian Americans.
Choosing peace? Forgive me, but can someone out there point me to a time where the Pali Arabs ever chose peace? Ever?
ATFP president Dr. Ziad Asali welcomed attendees and read a letter from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas offering his congratulations to ATFP and also to the three Palestinian-American awardees.
Not that this should come as a surprise, but a longtime Arafat aide admitted that Black September was actually founded by Yassir Arafat. The financier of Black September's Munich massacre, of course, was none other than Mahmoud Abbas.
Rafi Dajani, ATFPs executive director of the fledgling organization, announced: The good news is we have enough money to survive another year. The bad news is its still in your pockets."
Uh, the 7.4 billion wasn't enough?
The Palestinian Authoritys Ambassador Afif Safieh gave a short address regarding Palestinian hopes for an Annapolis peace conference.
Hope? For what? A Jewless world?
In his well-received speech, U.S. Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns presented his credentials: I want you to know how much respect I have for the Palestinian-American community in America. My sister-in-law, Nayla Baha, is a Palestinian-American. Her story and that of her family is very representative of what all of your families have experienced. Her mother and father fled Jaffa in May, 1948, thinking they would return in a few days or weeks. But, instead, the cruel fate of history determined that they would be refugees for more than 40 yearsfirst in Libya, then in Beirut, then in Athens, and finally in America, where they have found a home and where they are citizens.
So he is a proponent of right of return aka the demise of the Jewish state? How come he is not stumping for the 900,000 Jews who were kicked out of Arab lands?
I wonder if his sister-in-law has taken pointers from the Hezbo mole. But let's be frank, no one gives a bloody damn about the Jews who lived in Arab lands for centuries and centuries and had to flee without their money and possessions by the skin of their teeth. Wolf reminded me that all the Jewish money confiscated by bloody, terrorist regimes just like the Nazis did with the Jews in Europe. There's a MAJOR compensation due here, property, money, interest. Like to hazard a guess on how much money is involved here? Jews had to flee. The clueless Arabs listened to the Mufti, they chose to flee, can't have your cake and eat it too.
From my ties to Naylas family, Burns continued, I have learned that Palestinians, like all people, yearn for security and stability and freedom. I have learned that they have an extraordinary devotion to their families, and education, and most especially, to peace."
"Peace" The club to beat the Jews with.
Noting that he lived in East Jerusalem 20 years ago, working as a young foreign service officer, Burns said he got to know the people and the West Bank olive groves, vineyards and historic cities.
Turning to the present, he told the banquet guests that President Bush and Secretary Rice have outlined a clear goala Palestinian state living side-by-side with Israel. Its reaching that goal that will take a lot of work."
"A lot of work" Translation - a lot more Jew killing.
On July 16, Burns continued, President Bush...reiterated his commitment to the Palestinian people and vision of a two-state solution and the creation of a Palestinian state. We view the creation of a Palestinian state to be not only in the interest of Palestinians, Israelis, and their neighbors, but also as a key American interest.
Whose America? Americans do not support land givebacks. And Americans certainly and overwhelmingly support Israel despite State's best efforts to effect otherwise.
The international meeting the U.S. plans to host in Annapolis, MD aims to rally international support for peace, Burns said. President Bush has made this one of the highest priorities of his administration. In a recent interview with Al Arabiya, President Bush said that this meeting will be serious and substantive; that the aim of this meeting is to advance the cause of the establishment of a Palestinian state...
This is Condi's foreign policy. Advancing the cause of an Islamic Jihad state. This is Burns finest hour. His asshattery is advanced in our foreign policy now. Thanks Condi!
The framework for discussions at the Annapolis meeting will be consistent with the road map, and based on the principle of land for peace, United Nations Security Council Resolutions 242, 338, and 1397, and the Arab League Peace Initiative. Key participants will be the Israelis and Palestinians, of course, but we also view the Quartet and the Arab League Follow-Up Committee as natural participants, as regional support is key to success and essential for a comprehensive Middle East peace....
Annapolis was a travesty. Annapolis was an historical moment when American hegemony was a thing of the past and we surrendered our destiny to our mortal enemies.
Finally, Burns said, we continue to encourage both Israel and the Palestinians to meet their obligations under the road map. There is no alternative to progress on the ground. Israel should halt settlement expansion, remove unauthorized outposts, and reduce its footprint in the West Bank. I know the Israelis are serious about peace, but it is important that the Palestinian people know and see that as well.
Kish meir en tuchas.
According to the undersecretary of state, The Palestinians have to seriously undertake reforms to show that they can govern themselves and to set up the necessary institutions of their future state, They have to work harder to combat terror and extremism in their communities to prove that a Palestinian state can thrive peacefully alongside its neighbors...
Why? Why reform when they have been so successful at using violence, murder and terror to get exactly what they want, you tool?
Burns concluded by echoing Secretary of State Rices statement earlier that week: the time for a Palestinian state is now.
Is now the time for an Osama Bin Laden state now as well? I mean, what's the difference? So yes, let's fund another terrorist Jewish hating Arab state, makes so much sense and who cares if more Jewish blood is shed?

Independence for Kosovo
The United States fully supports President Ahtisaari’s recommendations. In particular, we believe that supervised independence for Kosovo is now the only way forward.
After the violent break-up of Yugoslavia and the ethnic cleansing that Slobodan Milosevic conducted in Kosovo, any other outcome, we believe, would result in dysfunctional governance, strengthen the hand of extremists and lead directly to new conflicts. The reality is that ties between Serbia and Kosovo have already been severed since 1999 when the UN Security Council, in resolution 1244, decided to remove Belgrade’s authority over Kosovo and place the region under UN administration. Now, over ninety percent of the citizens of Kosovo are Kosovar Albanians. They will never accept continued rule by Serbia. They are manifestly pro-American, having been protected from slaughter and exile by our troops. They will accept nothing less than independence. In the past eight years, Kosovo has strengthened its local governing institutions, including by electing an Assembly, a President, and Prime Minister. We see no credible option for integrating these institutions with Serbia.
Independence for Kosovo will mark the definitive end of the breakup of Yugoslavia, thereby allowing all the states in the region to focus on their future. It will enable Serbia, in particular, to move beyond the tragic and bitter legacy of the Milosevic era.
Nicky Burns is a clown, though a dangerous clown. When he was ambassador in Athens, he was a laughing stock held in contempt by most of the Greek government in and out of power. I was sitting in the office of a now very, very high Greek official some years back when Burns had said some particularly stupid, groveling thing about Mohammedanism. The comment brought gales of laughter from the Greek officials, most especially the one who is now so high up in the ND government. Then that person turned to me and said that Burns represented a trend in American diplomacy which would lead to war in the Eastern Mediterranean and ultimately throughout Europe and perhaps even America.
I thought that person was right then and I still do.
Oh Pleeeze! Nick Burns has done a fine job.
This article reads like a 5th grade rant.
Condhimmi?
The biggest danger right now is that many Israelis are tired of fighting and seem willing to accept any peace offer, no matter how hollow.
For the Jihadists, that is.
His service to the US sux, however.
Fire him. We need no Islamists in our government.
Ping.
Interesting.
I went to high school with Nicky Burns - he was always a snide little suck-up.
“I went to high school with Nicky Burns - he was always a snide little suck-up.”
Thank you!
One of the nice things about FR is the number of people who have insights to contribute about issues and people.
It is comforting to know that where now walks, and most unfortunately talks, an adult who is a snide little suck-up - surprise, surprise, the was once a ‘little person’ who was a snide suck-up.
Hah! I just knew he was like that. Did he run the then equivalent of the “Diversity Team”?
One of the things the Greeks hated most about him was that he seemed to think he was more highly evolved than the people around him.
He was your typical rich preppy kid, class president and all that. If I remember correctly, he had a little brother who was just as obnoxious, if not more full of himself. I hope he’s not in government.
AM, imagine the reaction of some chain smoking, Levantine Greek pol named Taki who came to Athens, with torn pants and goat sh*t on his boots, from a tiny village which never recovered from WWII or the Civil War to a pasty-faced, rosy cheeked preppie from Ameriki! I’m sure you get the picture.
This kind of personality is very common at State. Their arrogance is unparalleled.
They (many, not all fortunately) have a tendency not to listen to the people overseas deeply imbedded in the the front lines and go against reality and common sense when dealing with foreign cultures and situations, even though they pride themselves on being so globally "tuned in"
It gets the US in a lot of trouble. Vietnam debacle immediately comes to mind. Some of these people are called the best and brightest, but I am often not impressed.
You could put Chris "Jong" Hill in the same category as Nicky Burns, if you want my opinion. Between the both of them, they give away the US to islamofascists on the one hand, and the North Koreans on the other. Endemic, institutional corruption and incompetence at State.
Although about Nick Burns, it relates to the DPRK-Nuke-Appeasement debacle with Bush-Condi engineered by State these days.
“They (many, not all fortunately) have a tendency not to listen to the people overseas deeply imbedded in the the front lines and go against reality and common sense when dealing with foreign cultures and situations, even though they pride themselves on being so globally “tuned in””
There is also the opposite who “go native” so to speak and become not representatives of the U.S. and its interests but rather of the country they are posted to. Back in the Clinton days we had an Ambassador out in Laos named Wendy Chamberlain. She went native, right down to eating with her hands when lunching with visiting “firemen” from the States. I specifically remember her dirty fingernails. Anyway, if any American sought to legally vindicate American interests out there that in any way called into question the reliability of Pathet Lao regime for honest business dealings, she was right there, along with the local World ank rep. to make sure no one “hurt” the Lao commie genocidal government. Her job was to protect the Lao regime from Americans so far as I could see. Anyway, she went on to make a fool of herself in Pakistan. In fact she was recently bloviating in the NYT about Musharraf.
As you say, however, there are some very good people at Foggy Bottom, but they are, sadly, few and far between. In my travels I have had occasion to deal with personnel in a number of foreign ministries across the globe. Only at our State Dept. have I met bureaucrats not committed to the policies of the government in power but rather to some personal ideology.
Which brings to mind that wise quote once I heard. "What State needs the MOST is an "American" Desk!
Their frame of mind is "Rednecks vs Enlightened Ones." The tough realistic sobering attitude toward foreign countries is so confrontational and backward. Sensitivity and accommodation will solve most of the international problems. It was all faults of our suspicious and paranoid mindset. So goes their thinking.
This kind of mindset only appeals to domestic audience who will influence their career prospect. It never appeals to the hostile foreign elements and invites scorn.
These hostile foreign powers could see them in two ways:
(1) These hapless appeasers are nice packaging which contains the deadly bomb inside. If you fall for packaging, you will be blown up.
(2) These appeasers reflect the symptom of decadent and dying society. It only shows that, with a little more dedication and sacrifice, you can really bring them down.
Since their understanding of foreign culture and society is ridiculously out of place, they don't get respect even if these appeasers are doing all nice things for them.
One more reason why the Department of State is as useful as tennis shoes for a rattlesnake.
