Money needs to be spent and its time to make a move. The media is pumping McCain and Huck will have a group ready to follow him without spending anything. Is Fred going to start really fighting?

I understand his plan in Iowa but its getting time to establish himself considering he will lose big in NH and the media is already trying to write him off.

The campaign e-mail sent this morning say NH for the two debates the South Carolina. Pretty sure this has been well articulated in news stories over the past week when they’ve not been fighting off the lie that the campaign is rolling up.

Fred needs money before he can do anything in S.C.

I’m donating more today!! Go Fred!! I was furious last night when as soon as he was tied with McCain instead of ahead, they moved McCain onto the graphics and dropped Fred. The MSM is doing it’s best to ditch him.

he is moving into NH to do some big events. Let’s hope that Huck fades out and Romney shows poorly!

The obvious media blackout of Thompson might become noticed on a larger scale.

It’s a funny situation for the media—their eagerness to ignore Fred is newsworthy in itself.

Back in the early days of the 2000 presidential campaign, right after John McCain beat George W. Bush in the New Hampshire primary, there were many dire media predictions along the lines of, “If Bush doesn’t turn things around quickly it could turn into a McCain rout.”

Before a vote had been cast or a caucus convened, pundits of all stripes were touting a two-candidate race between former governors Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney, virtually ignoring worthies like Duncan Hunter (who is not campaigning in Iowa) and especially the eminently electable Fred Thompson. It’s enough to make one wonder, that if a conservative makes a point and it’s not acknowledged by the media, does he make a sound?

But in order to convince conservatives that they really know what’s good for them, the media has dusted off its favorite Reaganism: that Thompson is lazy and worse; that he doesn’t really ‘want’ the job enough. And, in the eyes of the 24/7 cable news cyclists, this is the ultimate crime.

Money will in part dictate the strategy. I donated to Fred last week and plan to make a bigger donation this morning.
If you don’t want Gomer, or Joe Isuzu in the White House, I would consider donating sooner rather than later.

I say, bypass NH, its a RINO playground anwyay, and head straight for SC. Continue the internet efforts to raise money, get his platform out to the SC people, and beat the street.

what Freds strategy is in the coming weeks.

I like Fred. He knows how to use apostrophes.

Any idea what specifically he has planed?

I like Fred, he can plane and de-plane with the best of them.

Nobody else even comes close.

I resent a couple of Northern states and the MSM telling me who my candidate for President is going to be. This hasn’t started and they are trying to orchestrate who THEY want, not the majority of people wish to run for President.

It is time to spit or get off the pot.

What are you waiting for, a personal invitation? If you are, here is one - Please donate now! This is too crucial a juncture in the history of the republic to wait.

If you like what Fred stands for, open your wallet and vote early and often with your money. Trust at this point it is much more important than waiting to see ....

I donated to Fred last night. If he’s first or second in an upcoming event, the media can’t ignore him anymore! I’m Christian, but do NOT want either of the top two candidates last night to be the GOP nominee.

Maybe this is wishful thinking on my part, but I hope that the "problem" with Fred is that the conservative vote on the Republican side is fractured among the several candidates, with the RINO vote (and possibly the evangelical vote, but I'm not buying that analysis 100%) more concentrated.

What I would like to see is a poll that compares each candidate individually against their competitor on the other side.

What I mean is: Obama vs Fred, Clinton vs Fred, Edwards vs Fred, Obama vs McCain, Clinton vs McCain, Edwards vs McCain, etc. etc.

We (as Republicans) could end up with a lame candidate who will lose to the rat frontrunner only because the conservative vote stays too diluted to get the right guy in front and then the one who ends up with the nominiation won't have the support of the Republican electorate to beat the rat frontrunner.

The following are just made up numbers, so please don't take this as an insult to your candidate...

Lets say RINOs comprise 25% of the party and evangelicals 25% and conservatives 50%. Most RINOs overhwhelmingly like Romney, most evangelicals overwhelmingly like Huck, and the conservative vote is split between McCain, Thompson, Hunter, and Rudy. Just because I like him, but you could use anyone, lets say Thompson is the guy that really could carry the party since most Romneyites would be happy with him, as would most Huckites, and so would Rudyites, Hunterites, and maybe even McCainiacs. However, the reverse isn't true - most conservatives aren't going to be happy with Romney nor Huckabee.

However, until Hunter, McCain, and Rudy drop out, Thompson isn't going to get enough of a showing to be a solid 3rd or 2nd. We could end up with a candidate that has fervent support from a minority of the party, but lukewarm support from everybody else and that isn't going to give us what it takes to beat the rats.

Obviously, you could frame this argument around any of the candidates and its going to be an issue in every primary. Just something we ought to be aware of when digesting MSM reporting and deciding when and where to put our campaign contributions.

When others have criticized Fox News the past couple years, I've cited Brit Hume as the only reason to watch them. I was bitterly disappointed last night at his reluctance to even give Fred credit for taking third.

This is the time for Fred supporters to keep on giving to the campaign. I hope Hunter fans will begin to move to him also, though I can understand how difficult it is to give up on someone you've believed was the right man.

As I understand it (second and third hand), Fred has been holding $6m for South Carolina. I don’t know if this is true.

My understanding is that he will be in New Hampshire only for the debates, then proceed directly to South Carolina.

I wish he’d put the Iowa ad up in Wyoming, which I understand is caucusing Saturday (or was it Colorado?).

Fred already spent a lot of time in SC after he entered the race so this will help him and in the next few weeks of him spending time in SC will help also.

My understanding is that Fred will be in New Hampshire today and tomorrow for both debates. Tonight on ABC at 7:00PM Eastern and tomorrow night on Fox at 8:00PM Eastern. I think the ABC debate tonight includes Huckabee, Romney, Guiliani,McCain,Thompson,Hunter, and Paul. Tomorrow night’s debate I am not sure if Paul and Hunter will be there. After the debates I believe Fred heads to South Carolina. Navada and South Carolina both have their primary on the 19th. GO FRED!
