DENVER -- An inmate who twice escaped from the Pueblo County jail filed a federal lawsuit Thursday, alleging that guards abused him and didn't do enough to stop him from breaking out.
Scott Anthony Gomez, Jr. alleges that guards have sprayed him with pepper spray, shot him with a stun gun, and beaten and kicked him without provocation. He also claims that employees of the Pueblo County sheriff's department got other inmates to assault him.
The suit in U.S. District Court in Denver was filed against Pueblo County, former sheriff Dan Corsentino, current sheriff Kirk Taylor, six guards and their supervisors. A sheriff's spokeswoman didn't immediately respond to a message left afterhours and there was no listed telephone number for Corsentino, who left office last January.

Didn’t do enough to keep him from escaping? The man who escaped is suing for that?
How can that make sense to anyone?
Obviously he got some scumbag lawyer to take his case!
This reminds me...I’m bald and from what I hear it’s my grandfather on my mothers side fault...SEE YOU IN COURT GRANPA!
Guess he needs to be chained to a wall from here on out.
Convicts tend to be a litigious bunch. A man here in Pittsburgh about 20 years ago sued the parents of coed he murdered, on the grounds if they had raised the girl right she would have never gone out with a loser like him and he wouldn’t have gotten into so much trouble for killing her.
I’m not suprised by this suit, it makes for an amusing story. The only possible problem is if the judge doesn’t have the good sense to throw it out promptly, so the lawyers can’t squeeze the taxpayers for fees to defend and prosecute this silliness.
Glue traps, for his own protection.

A Pueblo County inmate who was injured while trying to escape has sued the county in federal court in Denver, claiming that the jail should have been more secure.
Scott Anthony Gomez Jr., who is being held for parole violation, fell 40 feet last January while scaling down the side of the Pueblo County Jail during his second escape from the building. He is blaming the county for his injuries, claiming the jail should have been more secure.
Gomez hurt his back, buttocks, scrotum, urethra and head in the fall.
I remember a case here in Jackson county where an inmate walked away from the prison barefoot in January. He returned on his own after a couple of hours but sued because he lost a couple of toes to frostbite.
Holy freaking ow!
It would make lots of sense to John Edwards and his ilk. Anything for a $$.
Clearly injured the parts he thinks with most.
It’s the new definition of chutzpah.
A new zillionaire in the making.
This is why I view lawyers as bottom feeders, the scum that takes society to never-ending new lows. And I don’t want to hear any defense, none of that “there’s good ones out there” crap, because the so-called “good ones” should never have allowed such insanity to ever enter the system at our expense.
