If that’s her, I’m watching tennis.

I suppose there is a tactical consideration.

She could write a book, titled, "How to scream your opponent to defeat.":-)

My point is that what’s repulsive in a plain woman is just fine in a pretty woman.

Well, that is very true. Even go to extremes .....let's say a guy is at a party and the 'plain Jane' throws up all over him, chances are he would be pretty peeved off! (As a gentleman he shouldn't say anything but simply go to the restroom and wipe himself off, although I know some guys would probably say some words that are not repeatable).

But let's say instead of 'Plain Jane' it is Maria who throws up ....suddenly the guy is all over her, asking her if she is alright, telling her that she shouldn't be concerned about throwing up all over his Saville Row bespoke suit, asking her if there is anything at all that he can do, and basically dotting all over her. By the time he actually goes to the bathroom to wipe himself around 20 minutes will have passed, and instead of being angry he will be wondering how he can use that incident to get her phone number.

Again, beauty has an advantage.

Case in point: Have 2 women have car problems. One is 'just there,' while the second is a bana-Amazon goddess on Earth. While gentlemen will stop to help the first one, the second one will have a veritable line of guys trying to help her.

I once saw a number of guys stop by to help ONE woman in an Oklahoma road once .....to change a tire. Her car was by the road, and behind it several other vehicles ....looked like a truncated train. She was super hot, and were it not for the high speed i was moving at i might have also stopped to see if her mirrors needed adjusting .......maybe spit-polish the chrome in her car .....pick the crushed insects off her windscreen .....anything .....

Thanks for the current figures. I was using what I learned in my University remedial speech methods class, back in the dark ages. I don’t think OSHA even existed then.

Thanks again for the updated facts!

More stupid pseudoscience done by a writer who knows nothing about physics. 70 dBs is not approaching the noise level of a jack hammer at 80 dBs. Decibels is a log scale that doubles every 3 dB. So 80 dBs is actually more than an 8 fold increase over 70+ dB.

That being said, she’s prettier than Anna K, and a much better tennis player to boot. I’d be more than happy to help her with her breathing exercises. ;)

Seventy db's, on a consistent basis, is enough to cause hearing loss, particularly at close range.

HUH?

> Maria’s a screamer? I could of guessed.

For Christmas, a couple of my buddies got together and bought me a nice present -- a sweater.

But I would have preferred a screamer.

singfreedom is confused:

> Seventy db's, on a consistent basis, is enough to cause hearing loss, particularly at close range.
dB is sound pressure level (SPL), and it falls off with distance from the source. The strength of a sound source must be measured at a specified distance, say 1 meter, otherwise the measurement is meaningless.

70dB near the human ear is perceived as moderately loud, and is not enough to cause any hearing loss. But the source of that 70dB SPL might be a jet engine (120dB up close) a quarter-mile away. If one were standing near that jet, one would sustain damage for sure.

So singfreedom is forgetting that "particularly at close range" obliterates any meaning in their statement, because "at close range" the dB value increases. Conversely, the dB value drops rapidly as one moves away from the source. If it did not, for instance, a single jet engine at 120dB would deafen everyone on earth.

Oh, forgot to add the most important part:

If Maria's scream is 70dB SPL at 30 meters (per the article) it could easily exceed 100dB up close, say, with her head alongside yours on a pillow.

That would do damage.

Just doin' my part to clarify the advantages and disadvantages of close proximity to loud beauty.
