Lieberman: McCain Will Get Tough With Castro, Chavez
January 17, 2008 By: Paul Crespo
Joe Lieberman was dispatched to Miami's Little Havana on Thursday to woo influential Cuban-Americans to back GOP presidential candidate John McCain.
Lieberman, a longtime friend of the Cuban-American community, said that McCain is the best candidate to champion the cause of freedom ... Most importantly, Lieberman said, McCain would be able get bipartisan support for these measures.
And McCain will take on more than just Fidel Castro.
Across the board, McCain will engender trust in our friends and fear and respect from our enemies, said Lieberman....
Lieberman told the gathering of Hispanic leaders that he decided to strongly endorse McCain because he is the best person of any party in America to be commander-in-chief...
Echoing the comments he made to a group of Jewish Republicans on Wednesday night...
In Iraq, Lieberman noted, McCain pushed [former Defense Secretary Donald] Rumsfeld to change his strategy because it wasn't working -- and President Bush heard him. He changed Rumsfeld, changed generals, changed tactics and sent more troops. Now al-Qaida in Iraq is on the run ... and Iraq is getting better every day...
At the event were two former Cuban political prisoners ... Lieberman pointed out one of them, Roberto Martin Perez, saying; Roberto is what America is all about -- what John McCain is all about....
Lieberman noted that Castro goons helped torture American POWs like McCain in Vietnam just like they did to Cubans like Perez,...
Lieberman's powerful endorsement and his campaigning on behalf of McCain in South Florida will help McCain with two critical voting blocs here -- the Jewish vote and Cuban-Americans.
McCain also is supported by Florida's three Republican Cuban-American members of Congress: Reps. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, and brothers Lincoln Diaz-Balart and Mario Diaz-Balart.

Joe has now officially endorsed McCain for President, and is now actively and directly campaigning for McCain in person in the primaries.
Will he get tough with Mexico and when do I get my $50 per hour lettuce picking job?
Wow! Joe will surely help to unite Republicans. We need a liberal rat to guide us in our selection.
So which are we supposed to believe, McCain’s record or his rhetoric?
Here’s a bit of advice for Joe: You and McCain should either run in the Democrat Primary or form your own party. While we conservatives appreciate the adult attitude of both of you in the war on terror, we do not support open borders, increased taxes and every other common cause with the left.
So what? Lieberman will sway all three South Florida Jewish Republicans BIG DEAL!
When mckennedy is out tomorrow night Joe can go back home to ratville.
McCain wouldn’t even get tough with Lieberman.
Senator Lieberman BUTT OUT!
Castro will be dead and Chavez will make McCain dance to his tune.
Forget about Castro and Chavez. We’d be FAR better off if our next president secured our Southern border. What about THAT, Lieberman/McCain?
Lettuce pickers should be paid $50 an hour. I have to pay $513 a ton for fertilizer this year. Two years ago it was $160. I get the same price for my award winning potatoes that I got 25 years ago. You want high food prices? Wait until the farmers UNIONIZE. Then you’re talking a Depression. Unfortunately, the farmers won’t do it because of our compassion.
P.S. Do you want to bend over in 110 degree heat all day and pick lettuce and then bitch because you have to pay $1.69 per head ( or fag bag )
It’s about time McCain gets support from his party. Can Ted Kennedy be far behind, or does he only side with McCain when McCain is cosponsoring a bill he likes?
“McCain Will Get Tough With Castro, Chavez.”
Right after he finishes with the GOP and conservatives.
He might as well “get tough” with his mother-in-law, too. It will have just as much effect on the USA. WADDA PANDERING JERK !!!!
This is news to me... Is that true?
