A tax called 'No Child Left Inside' has been backed by New Mexico's Sierra Club, an environmental and outdoor preservation group. Is this the same Sierra Club that bitches and moans every time people actually ARE outside, "encroaching" on our pristine wilderness?

How about a compromise? We drill for oil in ANWR and off the coast of California, Florida and Texas. Think of all those oil workers enjoying the outdoors.

Put this with the proposed tax on admissions to strip joints there’s just nothing left a boy in New Mexico can do that is not taxed.

Get the kids out of school and give them recess ... that was taken away because the nannies were afraid they’d get hurt ...

Weigh fat chicks and make them pay a 1% tax for every lb they are over Tom Brady’s girlfriend’s body weight. Use the money to pay for free girlie mags for construction workers on government lunch breaks. Sound ridiculous? So is this idiotic video game tax.

Stop taxing families so much so that moms can stay home and kids can play outside after school rather than go to daycare or go home and stay locked in the house.

It’s interesting - my dad grew up in NYC - the Projects as they called them - they had playgrounds - a metal tube jungle jim bolted into asphalt - he said kids fell off it all the time - go home, get a bit of iodine and they’re back out again ... no nannie state to suggest soft plastic playgrounds ... he just shakes his head when he hears what’s out there now ...

I know. It’s crazy. We used to run until dark and come home exhausted. We had teeter-totters (evil) and merry-go-rounds (danger) and played dodge ball (imperialist and violent).

My 8 year old daughter has 2 hours of homework each night and gets a 15 minute recess each day. They have very little activity-based playground equipment, so mostly stand around. Then the school has the nerve to write and tell parents that kids need more exercise. Give them a decent recess and teach them in school so that they can come home and get outside after school. (Off soapbox)
