Rush Limbaugh: May Not Support GOP Nominee

Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh stunned his listeners by announcing that he might not support the Republican presidential nominee in this year’s election.

Limbaugh said on Monday’s show: "I can see possibly not supporting the Republican nominee this election, and I never thought that I would say that in my life."

The reason: “You don’t have a genuine down-the-list conservative” among the GOP candidates.

“Wherever you go here in this roster of candidates, you're going to be able to point out ‘not conservative, what he did there is not conservative’” Rush said.

The Republican front-runners want the nomination “because it's their turn,” he also stated. “We tried that in '96 with Bob Dole and now they're running the same scenario…

"I'm telling ya, it's gonna come down to which guy do we dislike the least. And that's not necessarily good."

Thanks for the post, but could you please rewrite your reply with capital letters. I’m not trying to insult but I can’t read it.

Nod. Rush is right. Vote for whatever gets us to a brokered convention because these candidates suck.

I heard that show. He was referring to McQueeg in-particular. I think he was also including Huckabee. Today he said there is two maybe one that he could vote for.

I never thought I'd say it either, but here we are.

I may be writing in Fred's name.

I heard it, too.

It was a slam of them all, excluding only perhaps Thompson, and that’s a “perhaps” as Rush praised Thompson as the “most conservative” then damned him about McCain-Finegold.

As a long time Rush fan, I have been very disappointed in him lately. Instead of concentrating on Hillary and Obama he has been trying to shape the Republican Primary to accept the Massachusetts liberal without saying so. He does it by bashing everyone else. Is he not familiar with the Romney Health Insurance legislation? Is he not familiar with the record of flip flops on social issues? Is he not familiar with the businesses that his consulting firm ruined while he banked his money in the Cayman Islands.? I think Rush has had his senses numbed by the hot young blond he is dating. In my lifetime, the number of men I have seen go nuts over a woman, far surpasses the combined number of men I have seen go down the drain to alcohol, drugs or gambling. I hope Rush hasn’t sucumbed, but could be.

For all of you people who tried to imply that Governor Romney was the 'one' to whom Rush often alluded...
You don’t have a genuine down-the-list conservative.

Care to try again?
