The number of gay weddings has plummeted by more than 50 per cent in the past year. Civil partnerships became legal for homosexuals in December 2005, allowing them to acquire the same sorts of tax and pension rights as straight married couples.
Initially, thousands of gay and lesbian couples held ceremonies. However, a survey by the Local Government Association found that all the 40 councils across England they surveyed had experienced a fall in the number taking place - the figures show an average drop of 55 per cent in 2007 from 2006.

Well, that makes sense. Those who were going to get married, did. You wouldn’t expect the rate to stay the same.
Like any new product, sales fall off as the market gets saturated.
I didn’t say anything about gay people getting married. In my experience, they are more pleasant to live around if they are in stable relationships instead of sleeping with anything that happens to wander by.
You should not get flamed for telling the truth and I would prefer living next to the stable couple, too. Kindness is always a good thing.
You will find this hard to believe, too, but I know a gay couple who have been together over 20 years and they are very conservative in their politics and views. Ha!
Well statistically this makes *some* sense... I mean you had many couples together for years who could not get married of course when you allow it the first year will have a deluge.. The interesting thing will be if there is a continuing trend..
Maybe the sheer number of gays was overestimated and therefore, after the initial "push" there aren't that many left?
exactly
the initial homo’s who pushed for gay marriage in MA did it for an agenda, they then moved to other states and asked for divorce knwoing if the new state gives them a divorce then surely they have no recognised gay marriage thus using that argument to get gay marriage legal in that state now and thus spreadking their agenda
it;’s not hard to see what they are tryiong to do
In the end it’s a sexual perversion, just like being tied up nothing more nothing less.
How pathetic to see these confused people think they are married yet as soon as they leave the state they are not married
Now that is a shame marriage if ever there was, even in Massachusetts most of the people look at these people as either confused, sick, or need mental help, they certainly think they are not really married and in their eyes as mine are they are not maried nor will they ever be.
still if they want to think that and top toe round the tulips then so be it
Its because of all the breakups caused by arguments over who gets to wear the wedding gown.......
The big question in gay divorces is which is the man and which is the woman? That way the court will know who gets the payments and gets kicked out of the house, and who receives the payments and gets to keep the house.
