Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s campaign accused Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee of “a backroom deal” that gave the early Super Tuesday win in West Virginia to Huckabee.

Romney, who addressed the state GOP convention in person Tuesday, comfortably led the first ballot at the convention, leading to a three-way second ballot contest between the three contenders.

Marc Ambinder of The Atlantic reported Tuesday that, after the first ballot, McCain’s campaign called his supporters there and urged them to vote in favor of Huckabee.

Huckabee can no longer deny he is not McCain’s stalking horse.

“How is it shady”

Well, let’s just take a case of a straightforward, simple footrace where there are three competitors. At the halfway mark, Competitor A is ahead so Competitors B and C decide to conspire to use their combined strength to defeat A. At the finish, Competitor C gets behind Competitor B and gives him a big push to nose out Competitor A.

In this case would you say B won, would you disqualify B and name A as the winner or would you void the entire race?

BTW A - Romney, B - Huckabee and C - McCain.

It’s kinda funny...the Romney Sleaze Machine being indignant over campaign shenanigans.

Classic pot calling the kettle black here. Romney’s lies, spins, and flip-flops have finally caught up to him.

Are there rules against competitors in the foot race combining strength?

I hope they keep dealing right into a brokered convention.

Romney should run for FIRST VICTIM of his Home Planet.

Because has a beautiful family and is rich.

In this election, Romney should resign instead of crying and whining.

Sean Hannity just had Newt Gingrich on his show, and tried to get Newt to say Huckabee’s win in West Virginia was because of dirty tricks, and Newt basically said, there weren’t dirty tricks, that’s how things work.

And when Sean tried to get him to say that Huckabee should pull out to give Mitt a better chance, Newt tried to point out that a lot of Huckabee’s supporters would probably go to McCain over Mitt, but it seemed to be falling on deaf ears.

A VOTE FOR HUCKABEE IS A VOTE FOR HUCKABEE!!

Huckabee - reliably pro-life, not recently pro-life.

Huckabee - reliably pro 2nd amendment, not recently 2nd amendment.
He understands that it is for self defense, not just hunting and sports.

He is an ardent, articulate supporter of the Fair Tax, and I believe he really “gets it”. It is the best hope on the horizon for giving power back to the people, and waking people up to the stranglehold the current tax system has on the people and the economy.

If DUNCAN HUNTER believes he can be trusted on border/immigration and WOT issues, I would trust Duncan Hunter’s informed, educated judgment after he spent a year getting to know the candidates, more than I would trust the opinion of any of the haters on here.

Don’t let the people who say he can’t be elected give us another self fulfilling prophecy of having to settle for someone we have to HOPE will do what he says. Right now it’s just name recognition, and when most people get to know Mike Huckabee, they like him.

They were both governors, but those people give Romney a pass for not being able to do what he “really” wanted, because he had a Democrat legislature to work with, when Huckabee was able to work successfully with his Democrat legislature.

Every vote for Mike Huckabee on Tuesday will be one more vote to show the establishment and the media that the election can’t be bought and we don’t have to settle for their opinion of “that’s the best we can get”.

Is Romney stupid enough to think that McCain would have dealt with him????

He needs to wake up. They play tackle in this league.

His puzzlement is a clue that Romney should not be at the helm when we’re dealing with the real world.

The two BBs—McVain and Huckarheem--the dastardly duo cahoots--plans unfold and it is no shocker. It has been clear for awhile these two are propping each other up. Who pays the price of this swindle? Republicans. Can’t wake a lot of them up though. They will get their just deserves.Sad.

If all this is true, then I keep having less and less respect for the ethics of McCain and of Huckabee. I expect Dems to do this type of thing; I do not expect Republicans, much less a former pastor, to pull this kind of garbage.
