Supporters of John McCain and Mike Huckabee joined forces today to rob Mitt Romney of an early Super Tuesday victory in West Virginia, a clear sign of how two Republicans are conspiring to try and deny the former Massachusetts governor the nomination.
... A Romney spokesman accused the two of "cutting a backroom deal".

It has also been said that Mike Huckabee and John McCain have been denying that they have been in collusion to do this.
Could the deny mightinstead be a lie?
If so, then Huckabee lying about being in collusion with John McCain for some time to stop Romney - wouldn't that make Huckabee a false Man of GOd?
Isn't Mike Huckabee supposed to be a Baptist preacher Man of God?
collusion.
Behold the false man of God?
Getting endorsements and votes is Collusion?
Maybe the Romney supporters can charge them with committing a hate crime, LOL.
Just listen to Huckabee for a few minutes and you will realize he is just the next used car salesman from hope running for President.
I am no fan of either the Huckster or McVain, but to say that they are “denying” Mitt the win is ludicrous.
If the two of them can get enough votes on their side, then that is just plain democracy in action.
Another Clintonesque move by the Huckster
I believe a back-room deal was cut. If Huckabee had any honor, he would have backed out.
Conservatives will NOT vote for McCain. Republican nominee can’t win without the conservative vote. Republicans will hand the country over to the Dems if they go with McCain.
Yes, behold the false man of God....
Wolf in sheep’s clothing
He lies as much as the dems do
Absolutely. And the Huckster's been at it for quite awhile now. And yes, he's lying about it. Huck is helping the traitor betray Republicans and conservatives. And ultimately, not only helping McCain but Hillary. I will never forgive him!
.
But this is not a "foul", it is hard-ball politics. The rules in W. Virginia allowed for this and everyone knew it going in. Fqct is, Romney was way ahead and the only way to deny him the win was for the two below him to band together...which they did, McCain giving his votes to Huckabee and defeating Romney.
It's how the game is played and Romney simply has to recognize this reality...which has been pretty obvious for awhile.
Romney's best hope, particularly since it happened early in the day and has been blasted out on the air waves, is that conservatives will not like the specter of party poltics, potential back room deals, and team tagging and vote against it later in the day.
But Romney's campaign should not whine about it. Let the talk radio hosts carry his water on this.
Well, a lot of blogs have reported this, but this is the first media story about it—in London, no less. Not many Americans will see it unless the American press reports it.
And, yes, Huckabee is a corrupt liar. That much is plentifully evident from his record as governor.
Did we expect any better? Oh well, good thing is you have an opportunity now to enter yourself as a write in on November 4, 2008!
Tp paraphrase Huckabee on CNN, he said that yesterday, Romney was accusing Huckabee of whining and today he is for whining.
Thus Romney has changed his position on whining in the last 24 hours and, like all other issues, is on both sides.
These two are behaving like Clintonista liberals, not Republicans. Makes me very glad I voted for Romney today.
McCain is Dr. Death, the GOP is the terminal patient, and Huckabee is the head nurse.
