Virtual programs already exist, and have for many years.

I said, "high quality" what I meant was producing an accredited and certified result exceeding the quality of MIT or Harvard (which isn't that hard). My home educated kids both started college calculus before thirteen. They have also posted post-graduate level work in history. It could have been a lot easier if there really were good materials out there.

The problem is that conservative have diddled around trying to reform the government schools, when what is needed is their complete collapse.

I have been saying that for decades.

Ultimately, the Liberal/Marxist would kill us if they could.

At the rate things are going it's "will," not "would," although it is likely to be accomplished by proletarian proxy and urban chaos subsequent to an economic meltdown.

Perhaps you already know this, but there are online programs from schools such as MIT.

No credit, but auditors are welcome.

Of course online degree programs also exist. My son went through the Univ of Phoenix program for an MBA and I can say that the program is authentic and up to date.
