Polls show that 40 percent of British Muslims want Sharia, Islamic Law implemented in the UK and the government has moved to accommodate them.
Tony Blair’s government passed a law that would essentially criminalize blaspheming Islam. The law was weakened in the House of Lords but it will return again stronger than ever especially as the electoral and terror power of Muslims grow along with the desire of Western governments to appease them.
Norway and Sweden have already begun the process of implementing similar laws. In parts of Australia criticizing Islam can get you jail time. In Israel a woman was sentenced to prison for drawing and distributing a cartoon of Mohamed as a pig. In Russia and Belarus newspaper editors have faced jail time for reprinting the Danish cartoons.
Despite the faith of Americans in their own immunity thanks to the Constitution, the legal framework for it is already in place. Hate Crime laws allow for actions that are not in and of themselves criminal to be treated as criminal actions. Increasingly such laws also define a hate crime not based on the motive or action of the accused perpetrator but on the perception of the presumed victim. Beyond the legal statues, perceived intolerance is penalized in numerous ways economically and socially.

this man was virtually unheard of before 9/11. Afterward, he was a household name.
Machinery. He was installed. Promoted relentlessly. The American people were told that they love him.
How long has this machinery been in place? The complicity that is required of the media, educational institutions (to indoctrinate a generation in the art of not having convictions), government, pools of capital...it's staggering.
This has been in the works for a very long time.
Elsewhere I posted about having to learn about Islam in 6th grade social studies. That was a long time ago. I remember it distinctly. I also remember never having had to learn about Catholicism, Protestantism, Judaism, Hinduism, or anything else. They may have been mentioned, but Islam was...elaborated on.
All of this furor over Moslem this and Moslem that will be solved when Moslem Chic hits the West. Mass conversions will eliminate all fears.

The blog “American Expat” (FR’s own “expatguy”, posting from Malaysia IIRC), says that Indonesians and Malaysians don’t have any question that Obama is an actual Muslim.
His “secular” education in Jakarta allegedly included the kind of Koran memorization that is popular in madrassas worldwide, and which apparently is highly esteemed within the Muslim community.
They look forward to a Hussein Obama Presidency.
A few things at work here:
#1 is Political Correctness. The subtle message of PC is not that all cultures are equal, but that Western culture is inferior and guilty because of all the “atrocities” it perpetrated over the years. [All cultures commit atrocities, but no matter]. PC is ultimately a vehicle to destroy Western culture as we know it. Obama is where he is because of PC, pure and simple.
#2 - Demographics. A lot of what we are seeing is simply driven by the failure of white people to have enough babies. If we had kept up baby boom like birthrates, PC would not exist.
#3 - Oil Money. The Gulf nations have a lot of oil $$ and that buys influence and has contributed to the radicalization of Islam.
#4 - Loss of faith. Europe has lost its faith and the US is not far behind. Muslims are “devout” while Evangelicals are looney. Secularism is NOT the opposite of faith, rather it is a stepping stone from Judeo-Christian culture toward radical Islam.
#5 - Socialism & Materialism. The combination of Socialism and Materialism has sapped the collective strenght of the populace. We are programmed to want everything, but now think the Government should give it to us.
The MSM and the Elites are spooked by all of the above and might be guiding us for a “soft landing” by slowly pushing Judeo-Christian culture aside in anticipation of what they see as the next big cultural wave. Instead of fighting it, they are working day and night to figure out ways to surrender to it.
First it was Eurabia. Take a close look to our north in Canada - BC has a plethora of mosques and muslims now. Time to show the 9/11 videos to America AGAIN, and this time show them all.
You're absolutely right. It's already hit among the English upper classes (including, I'm afraid, the heir to their throne), and I think we're going to see it happening here, too. Look for Oprah or some other high-profile mass culture type to turn up in a hijab one of these days soon, and then it will be all over.
If they have the power to overwhelm us demographically in a generation or two, then we are dhimmis. Our great grandchildren will all be muslims.

There is a spiritual vacuum among the Western Christian leadership class. For example, take a look at the recent statements by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the rise of bizarre cults, the huge influx of eastern religions. The closest analogy being the late Roman Republic up through the early Empire.
Yes, mengaji is actually what I think they were originally referring to with Obama. It is actually the same thing they teach in the hardcore madrassas - it is typically either taught in a madrassa or in someone's home. This is not something taught in a secular education and so Obama's mengaji would have been something extra. There is a story about his Indonesian teacher that I translated from Indonesian on my blog.
For those not familiar with what mengaji is, it is the recitation of the Quran by heart in Arabic rather than the individual's native tongue.
