When I was a young guy there were "penny post cards" and 3¢ stamps.
Yep, even back in the 1950's you could mail a letter for three cents.
How times have changed.

There were also $500.00 bills in circulation, and of course, all coins except pennies and nickles were silver.

Yeah...and in the 1950’s my grandmother put a stamp on an envelope upside down once, and the postal “service” returned it to her because it was incorrect....NO LIE!
