Got this via email this morning:

As Texans, I know you are concerned.

Roughly 600,000 acres will be seized for this TTC project. Of course, this land is coming primarily from rural areas, namely farm land.

As Texans, I know you are concerned about illegal immigration. Instead of dealing with that issue and working towards a solution, the state wants to build superhighway access for more illegals to come into our state!

The TTC will carve out a huge path across our great state. Exits and cross overs will be 10+ miles apart. In addition, estimated taxpayer cost (that's you!) is $200+ billion dollars. It will be a toll road and the lucky company to get the lucrative construction contract is actually from Spain--Cintra concesiones de Infraestructuras de Transporte SA of Spain and Zachry Construction Co. of San Antonio. Taxpayer dollars will build it and then Cintra gets the toll money. The TTC is of absolutely no benefit to Texans.

And the plot thickens--The Victoria Advocate reported on 14 Jan 08 that the construction company's legal representative is Bracewell and Guiliani. That is the same Guiliani as in Rudy Guiliani, former NYC Mayor.

What can you do? Let your voice be heard. Write to your represenatives and tell them how wrong this is. You can easliy find their websites through: www.fyi.legis.state.tx.us Through March 19th you can also submit your comments to the Department of Transportation through: www.keeptexasmoving.com. Click on 'comments/mailing list' and then click on the route of the TTC that you wish to comment on. Be sure and be clear that you do not support the TTC and you want all action stopped immediately.

Write to your represenatives (listed below) and tell them how wrong this is.....copy and paste email addresses. Subject: Trans Texas Corridor

To: Kay Bailey Hutchinson administrator@hutchison.senate.gov, Steve Ogden steve.ogden@senate.state.tx.us, Senator Florence Shapiro florence.shapiro@senate.state.tx.us, John Cornyn donotreply@cornyn.senate.gov, John Zerwas wallercountycitizens@yahoo.com, Glenn Hegar glenn.hegar@senate.state.tx.us, Glenn Hegar

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

All citizens of Texas are concerned about the Trans Texas Corridor. I do not support the TTC and want all action for this project stopped immediately. If we cannot stop OUR state from taking our homes, changing our communities, and paralyzing an industry that is so critical to our economy, what's next? What is happening to our country? It is time for YOU to take a stand and stop this TTC project.

When it comes to the Trans-Texas Corridor, Slick Rick Perry certainly thinks the price is right since he and his minions continue to defy the people, the law and any semblance of common decency. As you are well aware, that's what under-the-table moohla will do. We WANT THIS STOPPED!

You do know what countries/investors really own Cintra don't you. Hint, it has something to do with oil.
