Bill Was a Great American

I am very profoundly saddened to hear of the passing of William F. Buckley Jr. and offer my deepest condolences to the Buckley family. Bill had many friends, including my parents, who he even took time to visit when they were stationed at the U.S. Pacific Command in Hawaii. My father and mother very much admired him and so did their son. With Bills passing, freedom has lost one of its greatest defenders. Bill was a great American who helped change the course of history. When conservatism was a lonely cause, he bravely raised the standard of liberty and led the charge to renew the principles and values that are the foundation of our great country. A man of tremendous vision and big ideas, he founded the National Review in 1955 and through its pages and his other endeavors, as a lecturer, commentator, debater and author of dozens of books, inspired many and advanced an intellectual rigor that transformed American politics. Bill was an American giant who shall be missed.

I put this under the heading of "Breaking News" for a good reason. It marks the first time in a long time that John McCain has had anything nice to say about a Conservative. Wouldn't it be incredible if we could convert McCain to the Conservative side? I know it's a crazy dream, but I can't help it.

Willam Buckley was the type of conservative who took liberals to the matt and I bet he did not reach across the aisle or support any of the liberal lies the rino party so often does.

Both McCain and Buckley were speakers on the first day of the '81 YAF convention.

Wouldn't it be incredible if we could convert McCain to the Conservative side? Ain't gonna happen. McCain is just giving lipservice to Conservatives over Bill's corpse, after trashing us over the past two days.

In light of the fact that McCain has called Obama and Clinton "Great Americans", this platitude to William F. Buckley falls flat. Coming from McCain it means nothing. I had decided to hold my nose and vote for McCain, but in light of the fact that he threw Bill Cunningham under the bus for simply calling Obama by his full name, I no longer have any respect for the man.
McCain doesn't want to be the president. He wants to be Hillary or Obama's running mate.
Well people, get used to the following phrase "President Barak HUSSEIN Obama".
Buy gold.

If you are referring to the Bill Cunningham fiasco, I can only say the Karl Rove recently said the same thing that McCain did.
Victim status is a political intoxicant to the left. Do you really think its smart to play that card?

Rove helped lose Congress in 2006 and is out of a job.

LOL with attitudes like that there is no doubt in my mind that the Rats get the WH and a strong coat tails Congress in 08.

I’m a Conservative first, Republican a distant second. McCain will NOT get my vote, EVER, after the way he was repeatedly stabbed us in the back since 2000. If Obama or the witch wins, so be it. The GOP will have brought the disaster upon itself and the country.
