Actually the best thing for Diebold. Fantastic innovations in ATM’s for the old line banking equipment company. Great marketing killed competitors including IBM. But expanding into point of sale was a failure, as was debit card food stamp benefits, voting machines, POS gas pump terminals all were dismal ventures. Maybe United Tech will boot the losers.
