Obama (or surrogate): "If you and your husband had been ethical in your financial, political and personal dealings, there would not have been a need for someone like Ken Starr."
If he wants to be the nominee he will have to attack the Clintons on their weakness. If I were him I’d start talking about the reality of what the Clinton’s bring to the table.
* They singularly presided over the devastation of the Democrat party in 1994.
*They ran away in Somalia and unilaterally attacked Serbia which had been an ally.
*They fired the Travel Office staff and then went further to try to destroy them personally and professionally.
*They kept FBI records of enemies inappropriately.
*They had enemies audited by the IRS.
*Hillary totally mismanaged the effort to nationalize Health Care and set back (thankfully) the effort by decades.
There is just so much material. He can try for a squeaker and they face the Clintons at the convention where he will lose. The talk about Superdelegates not making the choice will not phase the Clintons one bit. I will not be surprised to find some Superdelegates being threatened before this is over by Clinton cronies.
He's in a tough bind considering he's always maintained the high road and to go negative may make voters think he's desperate or a typical pol. He's playing in the big leagues with a ruthless bunch and the sooner he and his advisors recognize it the better. Roland Martin had some good suggestions. Let's hope he reads them and heeds them.
