I’m no Trent Lott fan-—too much of a dandy for my tastes. But I think it’s totally unfounded to insinuate he’s involved simply because it’s his brother in law. (Lord knows, I’d hate to be dragged into some of the things my in-laws have done.)

Seriously, you don’t find the correlation of the dates to be in the least bit interesting? All it would take is one slightly improper comment by lott on a recorded conversation with scruggs during the wiretap period and it would be over.
