Dollars tough to sell on streets of Amsterdam

The U.S. dollar's value is dropping so fast against the euro that small currency outlets in Amsterdam are turning away tourists seeking to sell their dollars for local money while on vacation in the Netherlands.

"Our dollar is worth maybe zero over here," said Mary Kelly, an American tourist from Indianapolis, Indiana, in front of the Anne Frank house. "It's hard to find a place to exchange. We have to go downtown, to the central station or post office."

I was in an electronics store in lower Manhattan and a couple of German tourists were buying 9 iPods, marveling at how cheap they were.

We’re becoming like Mexico...

Well, at least NYC is booming. I’ve never seen so many European and South American tourists in my life. And they’re buying up everything in sight!

They buy the iPods and sell them back in Germany at slightly less than the sticker price, which gives them a fat profit.
