I can’t see why anyone would want to go back there. We will never be rid of katrina ‘victims.’

“Affordable Housing” = anything the government will let me live in that I don’t have to get off my butt and work for.

It’s only been two and a half years since Katrina. Let’s cut these fellow citizens some slack. They are still hurricane victims.

"We will never be rid of katrina victims." That's what we in the Picayune, MS, area are asking. This little town has more than doubled in size and the "rudeness" quotient at local businesses has more than quadrupled.
All I can say about the "subsidies" is, "Oh boy! More free cheese!"

LOLOL
Grrrr, hurricane victims. We've never had hurricanes before katrina. People used to suck it up, survey their damage, and get on with life. These people are caught in a perpetual victim status.

Free cheese, I agree. They brought their rudeness, anger, and that chip on their shoulder with them where ever they landed.

Is long as they stay out of Slidell. Slidell is a nice little town but it could change overnight.
My neighbor who was born and raised in East New Orleans says that section 8 housing caused the demise of East New Orleans. I guess East N.O. used to be very nice. I worry about the empty houses in my quiet neighborhood being turned into section 8 rentals. The best thing we have going is that the local Police don't take any crap and neither do the City officials.
