This thing jumped up on Hot Air this morning and has since been pulled down but is still up at the Nation. This is definitely a return of fire from an Obamaite Reporter.. but I had never heard of this group until this very moment.. and they are breath taking. Are these folks really the sponsors of The Senate Prayer Breakfast, is any of this paranoid rant true?

So now Hillary is supposed to be a closet conservative? Seriously, this election is beginning to read like an 8th graders attempt at a political novel.

judge the article by this at least:
“the weekly Senate Prayer Breakfast, which included, until his downfall, Virginia’s notoriously racist Senator George Allen.”

paranoid rant indeed

Mrs Clinton is in with a right-wing religious cabal, which explains her right-leaning tendencies.

Well that makes a great deal of sense to me, and it certainly will influence my vote this fall.

It doesn’t sound like any of the fundamentalists churches I know of all of which teach the primacy of the Kingdom of Christ which supercedes all kingdoms on Earth and in spiritual principalities.

It does sound like cultist Masons, illuminati and scientologists though...take your pick!

news Flash!

Joe Lieberman, the next Vice President, is a member of the Senate Prayer Breakfast too! This explains his right-wing religious views.

http://lieberman.senate.gov/newsroom/release.cfm?id=208470

When I was first invited years ago to the Senate Prayer Breakfast, I found a lot of excuses not to go. Some were good — like my reluctance to leave my family so early on a weekday morning. But some excuses were not-so-good — like my apprehension that the Senate Prayer Breakfast was really a Christian breakfast and that, because I am Jewish, I might feel awkward or my presence might inhibit my Christian friends in their expressions of faith. I was wrong on both counts.

The regular participants in the breakfast, and our wonderful chaplain, Lloyd Ogilvie, persisted and finally convinced me to attend by employing a tactic that usually works with us politicians: they asked me to be the speaker.

That was a very important morning in my now 11 years in Washington. We began with prayer and readings from the bible and then called on the chaplain, who told us about some people in the Senate family we might want to pray for, because they were ill or had lost loved ones. Then it was my turn. I spoke about the Passover holiday and answered some very thoughtful questions. At the end, we joined hands and prayed together.

All in all, it lasted less than an hour, but I was moved that morning. More than that, I felt at home.

Some guy called in to Mark Levin’s show about this last night. Weird.

Given her politics, ethics, pride, greed, and disdain for mere humans, I'd imagine that if you presented hillary with a bible she'd use it first as a photo-op, and then as a paperweight.

This sounds like one of obama's inspired new voters decided that the Wright dus up should be upstaged.
Then drafted up a story in crayon.

And, to post 7, thanks for your opinion but Huckabee isn't running anymore.

What a bunch of BS. It is, after all, in Mother Jones, a “notoriously anti-American, paranoid liberal rag”

I like the quote: “Virginia’s notoriously racist Senator George Allen...” from the article.

Other than the well known “macacaca” comment which is, at worst, of very debatable meaning, can someone please tell me what Mr. Allen has ever said or done to make him a “notorious” racist?

Mother Teresa was invited to attend one of these prayer breakfasts, too, and she gave a powerful speech on the evils of abortion in the face of Bill and Hillary Clinton.

I suppose she’s part of the plot.

Good grief. The Nation really has gone around the bend! The Communists have been kidnapped by little green men!

Jack M over at Ace of Spades covered it a bit. He actually attended once while he was a staffer in Congress. It is a nonstory anywhere but in the religon hating left.

What a bunch of hokum. The author mentioned every Republican boogey-man from the past two decades with the possible exception of Richard Mellon Scaife.

I wouldn’t even expect to see tripe like this in Weekly World News or the Puffington Host. I guess “The Nation” is hurting big time for circulation.

“notoriously racist Senator George Allen.”
See what they do? They create a storm over an innocent action, accuse the person of racism, then treat the false accusation as a fact for years afterwards.
